I got a 2015 Challenger too. I was looking at trying to save up and get an 8.4 professionally installed, because I know my way around a computer and how easily one little mistake can be very costly. But after watching your video that looks to be very easy and has given me the confidence to attempt it myself. 😁

Some additional info. If you buy the RA4, Infotainment sells an adapter to go from the blue connected antenna to the greenish color socket. This is the "compass" sensor that after the installation of this "C to K" band adapter wire, you can plug the blue satellite plug into the unit's GPS receiver socket (greenish one). You don't need the 20 dollar part. Each one of these sockets have a set of indexing tabs. They are 2 small tabs at different places around the perimeter so each antenna only goes into one slot and one large one that the clip connects to. If you take a VERY sharp knife and remove these indexing tabs, NOT THE LARGE LOCKING ONE, you can plug the blue coax plug directly into the greenish socket. I did just that and immediately had good GPS on 8 satellites. Also, be VERY careful removing the bezel!! I broke TWO tabs, which then required intense microsurgery with epoxy and individual fiberglass strands.

Congrats on upgrading to the 8.4, big improvement over the 5" radio.

Man I really want to get rid of that 5 inch radio on my sxt but God they are so damn expensive.i might have to wait a couple of months for this upgrade since I just bought a borla atak full catback exhaust for my car. My install didn’t go so great today, my 5 inch radio has a white plug and a blue plug, the 8.4 has a white socket, green, pink and a brown socket, no blue and to top it off the radio is locked and asking for a 4 digit code which wasn’t given to me, guess I’ll return it and buy else where

I love that you manned up and did this shit yourself. But, man, I cringed when you set the screwdrivers down on the trunk. Then you went inside and started jamming the same metal screwdrivers in the trim to wedge that crap out. All I can see is nicks and dings. Those are my own OCD issues. :-D The upgrade looks nice...Great Job! Keep the videos coming.

Hey, I have a 2019 challenger RT. My vehicle came with the 7" radio. I just upgraded to the 8.4" mines works great. except the back up camera isn't working. did u have this issue

So i have a 2011 dodge rt and i had the small touch screen 4.2 and had no bluetooth so i upgrade to the 8.4 and bought it from a friend he had bluetooth and when i put it on my car i dont have bluetooth. Like i dont even see the option for bluetooth i only see the usb,cd, and aux do i need to buy something else? Do you know any sollution?

Hello! Thanks for posting this video. I just purchased my 2017 challenger and sure enough 5" radio.... Ok so I want to upgrade but I do have questions. 1. Does the navigation work? 2. Does the navigation pull the gps info from your connected phone or ?? 3. Does the Sat radio work? I see you dont have the shark fin style antenna, will sat radio work without it? 3. Do the apps all work? Guessing those pull signal from your cell too? Thanks for the feedback. Hey I got a Charger, but my big problem is the Volume goes up only to 38 and it’s just not loud enough to me. Ik I can get an aftermarket radio but the just don’t look as good as the 8 inch radios but it only goes to Volume 38 anyone know what to do???

did u have a problem with the Dash bezel not fitting right after the install? the dash bezel is different for the 8.4 inch screen. I ended up buying a replacement and it snapped right in.

That is ridiculous, how many times you get wrong information from supposed to be professionals in dealers. Instead of them saying let me get answers 4 u, they just deem it impossible by guess and u get it done in 10 minutes, woahh, very nice.
