Finally got to pair the Breeders

The time has come, I got to put the breeders in their individual breeding cages. Hope you enjoy. In the future I will go more in-depth of who is paired to who. Hope you enjoyed the video. Stay humble and kind.

Tortis shell Grizzle I believe is what they call that color. The baby on the floor. Is also called pied

Hey buddy your way ahead of me I won't start breeding til the middle of Feb. Only because I will be away. I would love to start now believe me! I was wondering if that grizzle was one of mine? If so you should know that one of its nest mates did really well on the racing team. Also you might need to put up a piece of cardboard or something so that dominant RR can't see into the other breeding cage. Once in a while I have to do that until they are down on eggs. Can't wait to see what you breed and which one is onyx?

Thanks Mike. Yes that Grizzle (John Snow) is from you. I will be placing him in the breeding loft next. I still have four more cages I need to put up in another inclosure. Onyx is the blue check hanging out in the lowest box with the red hen. I am under the impression they are both hens but they seem to fancy each other. If it turns out they are both hens like a think I will pair Onyx with my Red Check cock and John Snow with that Red Hen.

This is definitely a southern setup. When I PCS next and end up somewhere with a real winter these cages will have to be inside for sure.

So the second loft shown “flying loft” is 8x4 and 7ft height in front 6ft in back, utilized standard sheet of plywood sizing for easy construction.

Each individual breeding cage is 30x30x18

@@ensom876loft If you could find them, I would suggest getting cages 30x24x18 instead. I have a hard time reaching to the back of my cages and wish they weren’t as deep but do feel the pigeons need as much space as possible.

Top boxes poo on to the bottom boxes not good

Don’t worry since then I added sheets of plywood under the top boxes to catch it all. Eventually I plan to update the whole thing and have nice drawers that slide in and out.
