If you did a horizontal set, you could put The Wire bottom on and I have used the plastic mesh in the past 4 other nest boxes that worked well. But having that open bottom then all the droppings would fall to the floor and it would be easier to just scrape up off the floor rather than having to clean the nest boxes.

You have built a beautiful loft. I think placing the first nest box on the side, adjacent to the wire, will allow you to maximize space on the wall.

How has it been working for you using the bare wood in the pigeon nesting boxes? Next time, if you have a few extra dollars, buy a small amount of epoxy and hardener, and mix it with acetone to dilute it, and apply one or more coats of that to the wood in the pigeon's nesting box, that way it will NOT soak any moisture and you can spray clean with a hose the wood if you ever wanted to do that and sanitize it well.

Not much to be honest - considering it;s a 10x30 loft. I've seen shed this size going for 15K dollars. I spent around 4K but I also re-used woods I had laying around.

I like to be able to sit outside and observe everything‘s going on and see the babies and the parents without going in and disturbing them each time.
