You motivating me to start on mines. I have a 5.3 Vortec sitting on my engine stand in my garage for awhile now. I broke it down and haven’t looked at it since until today 😂 I would definitely be ordering that book and getting the process started. 💪🏾

I was about to say that timing is Deff not set right. Make sure you reading or watching videos bro. Make sure your boots have the right torque too. On the timing There’s usually a mark on the sprocket that’s supposed to be in line.

These LS motors are like legos, its really hard to mess them up….just make sure you follow torque specs and your golden…..that book you have is the truth….i have the same one and have built 5 of these motors using that book with zero issues

You doing a great job but get rid of that stock chain tensioner get you a ls2 style tensioner the plastic on the stock tensioner will break off in the engine👍🏿

I'm getting ready to do a DOD delete on my 2012 avalanche. Im just curious as to why you went with the stage 2 cam vs the truck norris cam?

Cause it’s for my wife and I didn’t want to spend the money to upgrade all the other stuff I need to if I go with the Truck Norris…gotta upgrade pushrods, rocker arms and torque converter at the least

@87SSBOI I feel you because I'm going back and forth between the nsr truck norris and just a regular dod delete cam. I'm in Washington state, and trying to find a turner out this way is hard to do. My wife is trying to rush me to get it done vs taking my time to get it exactly how I want it.
