Back in the 90s when I was 15, they had one of these at a local music store in my home town. I missed out. I'm 40 now and I'm not missing out this time 😁🤘🏾

In 1996 at 13 years old, I made my first big purchase. A fender jag stang from guitar center in Boston. I had that guitar until I was 27 and it was lost in storage 😞 awful loss

Same here. Just got one last week. I am so happy with everything on this guitar. The little kid in me comes out each time I pick it up and has become a favorite of mine. I also have a semi hollow tele and a ESP LTD SH-7. The sh-7 was my first guitar I bought so I will never move on from it as well as my new Jag-stang!!!! I will say this though. It is super hard to match the power of Fishman fluence pick ups on the SH-7. I do love those active pickups

They removed the "Designed by Kurt Cobain" decal on the back of the neck. That's shitty.
@lyric.kayden2 жыл бұрын
I agree totally. It’s like they wanted to scrub Kurt Cobain from the guitar and his association with it but at the same time still call it the Jag-Stang Kurt Cobain. Maybe Courtney wanted money or whoever owns him nowadays lol. Because otherwise I’m sure it costs nothing more than 10 cents to put that on the back of the headstock or heck put it on the heel of the neck lol.

I owned 4 of the original runs and still have two of those in my collection one of each color. I only pull them out to use these when recording but have received my preordered 2021 this week and its everything it should be. Plays just like the old ones and sounds amazing definitely a guitar to have in your arsenal of sound. My 2021 will be a work horse for me though keeping my originals in pristine condition and allowing me to enjoy the nostalgia of playing these amazing guitars on stage for 12 years before I moved on to my jaguars.... but always missed this axe when it came to shows. Thanks fender for the amazing axe loving this 75th anniversary fender. And a great way to roll in the 30th anniversary of nevermind.

Franco Begbie sure can make any guitar sound good, jokes about his uncanny resemblance to trainspotting characters aside, that guy sure can play. My mate had one of the original run jagstangs back in the 90’s, I hated it then and I hate it now but I also really want it…

If these are the same as the '96 model we have then it's good news/bad news. The good news is that it's a really fun, playable, likable, versatile, & awesome guitar. The bad news is that it is janky AF out of the box and takes heaps of modding to get it there, so it kind of depends on you and your temperament. It is literally our fav guitar and has been for yonks but it is probably only 50% original (if that), since we replaced the pickups, scratch plate, stabilized the bridge (a must), and had it refretted too many times to count. We don't even take it to gigs or on tour anymore even though we love it, just because it will always be temperamental. Would recommend, but we don't even know what they are asking for these new ones and we picked ours up cheap second hand back in '99 or '00 or so. Buyer beware? Or buyer just dive headfirst and decide later? Eh.....

The only Jaguar feature on the Jag-Stang is the lower half of the body, the rest of it is pretty much a Mustang.

Nobody buys a Jagstang because of its sound. They buy Jagstangs because of how they look and/or because they are fans of Kurt. Even these demos with an excellent player, the sound is meh. You can get more mileage with guitars that cost 1/3 of this.

Jag-Stang do have a very unique thin and narrow neck. It's the smallest neck I've ever played on a non travel guitar. Not if the reissue still has it, but it's definitely a selling point.

I had a an original 96 in fiesta red left handed. Absolutely loved it but I had to sell and I’ve regretted it ever since. But now I’ve ordered a sonic blue left handed one but my question is why wasn’t Kurt’s name put on the guitar this time was it to keep costs down cause of his estate

Can you downtune these ok with the shortened neck? I’d like the option to play some drop b# but the short scale might make the strings feel like rubber bands.

Asking anyone for their opinion on this question? What's the better Jagstang to own.? The Japan model or Mexico model? And why? And is it better to own a Kurt Cobain signature over the ordinary Jagstang?

How come on the single coil some of the magnets look like they aren’t flush? Is that normal?
@danielkspriggs4 ай бұрын
Yes, when they create the pickups they try to balance the string volume based on how the pickup magnetic field and frequency curve interacts with each string. The bridge humbucker has adjustable pole pieces if you would like to customize the presence of each string!

Me and the jagstang have a long history In 2009 I finally got a 2004 ressiue jagstang. It was used had some dings but I fucking loved it. I loved nirvana especially the in utero years. Was my baby. In 2012 my so called friend Jacob and his dad stole it from me because I got kicked out. Literally over the fact I loved Cream as much as I love Sonic youth. They mashed it up repainted like garbage and I ran into him in 2019 and stole it back. Restored it and everything. Then in my drug addiction I pawned it away to help my girlfriend. Then lost it to the pawn shop after being spun out of control. Almost to months sober and in a a. Rebuilding my life. I must get this new one. It's my absolute favorite guitar and to have a brand new one straight out of the box is fucking getting me hyped. Just got a job today saving up for this beauty. Sonic blue and I'm going to either swap the pickups with pearly gates or jb
