Nuremberg used to be the toy capital of the world. They were also famous for mechanics. See the iron hand of Götz von Berlichingen. You should also have tried Franconian Schäufele.

I did not know that! We didn't really want to include Schäufele. Camille couldn't eat it, and Ben doesn't love pork.

Love having Camille more involved in front of the camera and how you bounce of each other's energy. Really liked the outtakes too, shows just what you have to go through to get the polished results that we get to enjoy.

December? Don't try the Lebkuchens Schmidt ginger bread. Try the one's of Düll, Woitinek or Bock. They are the locals favorites! Even softer and more delicious. Try the original Elisen and the ones with dark chocolate.

If you find the christmas market of Nuremberg to crowded for your liking, them i recommed to hop over to the adjacent cities of Fürth and Erlangen (10-20 minutes by train). They have multiple smaller and less crowded christmas markets. Thats what the locals usually do.

I live in Nürnberg. Next time in terms of sausages try „Bratwürsthäusle“, for Lebkuchen go for „Witte“ and for coffee try „Machhörndl“ or „Rösttrommel“, for beer go for the „Rotbier“ or „Gutmann“ wheet beer - a nice place for beer is Cafe Wanderer - enjoy ;)

Thank you for your positivity. I recently moved back to Nuremberg and I have to say it really has become much greener and more pleasant since I left but my long term resident friends are often surprised when I point out these changes and just focus on things which got worse. But it still is the place I feel home and has so much to offer.

Hey guys. Love your videos. Been watching for a year now and me and my wife actually visited Germany for 30 days last month after using your videos for tips on our itinerary. Nuremberg was one of my favourite cities. The castle blew our minds. Clearly we missed some good eating but drank heaps of Tucher. Keep on keeping the vids coming.. good stuff. Also, you should check out Monreal if you are feeling like a trip, or anywhere on the Rhine.Bacharach and Rudesheim.

Husband and I took a day trip to Nuremberg today and we followed the recommendations on this video, absolutely loved every spot. We ended the day at Zum Gulden Stern and the ambiance was wonderful, totally felt like we traveled in time as we were waiting for our food, the inside of the building was absolutely gorgeous. As a regular follower of your chanel, you've convinced me to revisit Nuernberg for the food and Bier! All I had my visit last year was Tucher Helles. But I LOVE Bratwurst and Kartoffelsalat. I'm planning to base my 2024 visit in Muenchen for 5 days with day trip activities, then onwards to Heidelberg, followed by Wittenberg and Leipzig. If you haven't visited Wittenberg, I recommend it highly. Its a relatively untouched by war medieval city, the home of the Protestant Reformation and home of Martin Luther. My trip this year is based on Music, historical cities, and authentic German food and Bier.

Schmidt Lebkuchen are the most well known, so most of the tourists go for them, but the Lebekuchen from Bäckerei Düll are unmatched in my oppinion and a really noticeable improvement over what I ever got from Schmidt. They are expensive, but if you really want the best Lebkuchen this City has to offer, i highly reccomend checking out the ones from Düll

Tose are amazing Lebkuchen I agree, but me, a german always gets them from austrian brand Pirker. They have a shop in Vienna(but are available online) and I guarantee you those are even better then what you just ate. Also the filling of a Domino is made with persipan, so made of kernels of peaches or apricots.

Just found your channel, and after watching your other Nürnberg video, I had to watch this one. I live near Nürnberg and it's always interesting what visitors think of it and what they visit. Loved both videos. When you'll be back in Nürnberg you can try the Kaspar Schmauser. It's at the Hauptmarkt near the Frauenkirche. It's a vegan place, not much regional food but definitely delicious options 😊 I can't wait to watch more of your videos. And good luck with gaining followers to do this full-time 🤞🍀

"the capital of MIDDLE franconia" :-P i'm from lower franconia and my capital is Würzburg but Nürnberg now has many vegetarian and even Vegan restaurants :) not traditional German though of course but hey. Also i REALLY can recommend Finys Taverne in Nürnberg :) it's an "old Tavern" with some delicous Brotzeit, beer and Mead. Also it's one of the meeting point for most Fantasy Fans and Nerds in Nürnberg.

Coffee and cake? Machhörndl in Brunnengasse (inside the Kramer shop) will beat every other coffee roastery (besides Rösttrommel). The cakes and cookies you can have there bring it to a new level. Cool location for a coffe? - Di Simo. Bratwürste: most tourist stands are good, but if you want to see where the locals get them, then go to the Schlemmer Eck. Altstadthof brewery - unbeatable! Best! Really!

Is sauerkraut vegan? I think they often use a liitle bit of räucherspeck (german smoked ham) the add some flavout to it. When i think about all the sauerkraut i get it was mostly with speck inside.

There normally is just one big piece in there that it gets cooked with, but it is not eaten itself. And normally rendered pork fat (Schmalz) is also used 😬😬😬 We Fraconians are good in hiding pork in our dishes 🙈🙈🙈

The blessings of multi cultural dining are showing off. Find a place where turkish or greek food is offered. They usually have more vegan/vegetarian dishes to offer than the average traditional german cuisine. "Linsen & Spatzen" (lentils & sparrows (small lenghty dumplings)), "Baggers"( potato pancakes), white asperagus with steamed potatos or eggs in mustard sauce, to be mentioned as typically vegan/vegetarian german dish. Those dishes are so humble, they couldn't make it to the tourist restaurants. Unfortunately.
