Thank you for your videos. I immediately thought about adding Bamberg to my upcoming Europe trip. Having a beer at Altenberg castle sounds magnificent. Who wouldn't like the combination of beer and castle. While Googling it, it mentions that the restaurant has permanently closed. Is that different than the brewrey? Do you know if you can still get a beer at the castle today?

Have lived here in Germany since 2014 and this year on my 10th anniversary I will finally get my German citizenship and German passport! So happy I didn't do this sooner, because I would have had to give up my American citizenship. Now I have the best of both worlds. Good luck to you on getting your citizenship!
@NearFromHome12 сағат бұрын
Yeah, my wife is considering keeping her American citizenship. But for me, being British, I just really didn’t want the permanent tax filing hassle and what not when I know I’ll never be going back. For some it’s worth the hassle, for others it’s not. Just depends on your situation.

I always recommend people buy online, but we showed up ten minutes before a train left, didn't get tickets, and just waited thirty minutes until the next one. It was pretty chill. This was in 2021 though...

It depends on how much time you want to spend up there. There are some hikes you can do. If you spend a while up there and then explore the town, it could definitely be a half day activity.

Thanks for visiting and all that, BUT... why the generic Arabic/muslim music? You know that Georgia is Overwhelmingly christian/orthodox country right? If you could spend 10 more minutes to research apropriate Georgian music like "Niaz Diasamidze" or maybe Tradinional Georgian music... IDK... Feels like you guys just used generic music from Hollywood movies representing some shitty/Terrorist arabic country. (Imagine doing video about Germany and using Soviet shitty music for it...). If you want your channel to b more popular, try doing more research . Also, why would cheese dumplings have juice? The ones that have Meat have juices (Common sence). Hi. Love your videos. Contemplating an outdoorsy trip to Bavaria, and, as an older person, I have to ask the Gilligan's Island question. What's bathroom availability like on the Mt. Wank hike? Eibsee? Other lakes? Also, is there cell service?
@NearFromHomeКүн бұрын
There generally aren't bathrooms in the mountains. There are restaurants all throughout with bathrooms though. I think cell service is good in these locations, it's really not as remote as you would think.

Looking at the analytics, this video has gotten 7 thousand views since posting. It has made 61.51€. Camille currently works part time editing the videos, we dedicated three whole days filming this series, and spent a lot of money on transportation/hotels/food ect. I'm not going to not advertise my own channel after being given such measly views and monetisation for all the work we do. You are welcome to hit the donate button if you'd like to see less self advertisement. In the mean time, each of the sections have chapters, so that you can easily skip over scenes that displease you.

you don't need to be scared to call out the chinese mainland people. they always bring their attitude w them everywhere they go. n its important to not leave out the "mainland" word when addressing them. I used to work in a mall where tourists would come visit n most of the foreigners are the mainland chinese. I think bcs china has like 1 billion citizens n a lot of them are rich enough to go travel n act like they are the aryans of the world
@NearFromHome14 күн бұрын
lol I am no 'afraid to call out the Chinese'. There's nothing to call out. 'They act like the Aryans of the world'- Hoooo boi there is a lot to unpack here. You have made. a lot of assumptions and generalisations about a racial group....what is that called again?
@papishome339414 күн бұрын
@@NearFromHome that’s called racism. yes I’m a bit racist but to be fair, I also condemn my race if we do something wrong. also I forgot to point out that back when I used to work in an apple store, the mainland chinese tourists were the rudest n least civilized. not all of them but I can say around 50-60% of them are like that. yes its probably bcs its an apple store, therefore our target market are customers w money. but a lot of them treat us like lowlife peasants. ofc i’ve encountered a few good chinese people but its so rare that it amazed me every time they come by

When I had been on the Daniel a few years ago on a Saturday at 16 o'clock I hadn't been at the top, but I choose to wait right above the bells. What an amazing feeling to feels those mighty bells swinging right below you 😍 Did you know that Nördlingen still has a bell foundry? Aside from the Eisenbahnmuseum that you already replied to in other comments (did you know that the steam trains in Munich at Pfingsten or Christmas are operated by them? Or that they still do scheduled cargo trains using steam?) I'd suggest you to visit again at the Stadtmauerfest that happens every three years. The whole old town will essentially be a medieval market then 🥰 And you should also use the chance to visit castle Harburg which I'm sure you saw on your way from/to Nördlingen by train. 😍 Speaking of things to visit from Munich... have you by chance visited Raisting at the Ammersee? It's the location of the oldest satellite communication dish in Germany, put into operation in 1964 and being housed inside a cupola that's kept up by air pressure. The tourist season will start in May, so you might want to take the chance for a guided tour 😊(you can get there by train either via Geltendorf, travelling along the lovely Ammerseebahn, or via Weilheim)
@NearFromHome15 күн бұрын

How unexpected to be recommended a video from Nördlingen 😍 My mother used to work there and during kindergarten I got to spend my afternoon at my grandmother's at the outskirts of the city. We lived first at Harburg (with a view of the castle of course 🤩) and then in a small town nearby until I moved to near Weilheim in Upper Bavaria and nowadays in Munich. But just in December I had been in Nördlingen as well (tasting the awesome Stabenwürst for the first time in years 🥰) due to a good friend of mine celebrating her wedding on the Harburg. Did you have any chance to tast the Kraterspirit gin? It's made from local herbs gathered in the Ries 😊 Now onto your first video about “Nerle” 😁

@NearFromHome I mean you could probably say both. We have two "Volksfeste" here. One is called "Staben", the smaller one in May. The other one is called "Mess", the big one in Juni. So people always looking forward to the good "Messwürstle" and all people I know use that term. But again, both would be understandable. Greetings

@NearFromHome and as we already talk about festivals. I should mention the "Stadtmauerfest" wich takes place every 3 years and turns the hole city ans the people back to medieval times . A big happening. Next one is September 2025. Big recommendation. :)
