A few things with this Anime. 1. You dont need to know anything about Volleyball to enjoy or understand Haikyuu. They explain everything. 2. There are no enemies/antagonists. All the "rivals" and "opponents" are human. 3. You will need tissues. Your guys' enthusiasm straight off has made my crappy day. Imma subscribe

You get both, them becoming better players and character development. This is a bittersweet anime for me because you end up liking all the teams and you want everyone to win but that’s impossible 💔😭

Okay so some basics in volleyball: 1. The 2 on the yellow you call rounds is called "sets" in volleyball. In this anime, it's first to win 2 sets, and score 25 points to win a set. 2. A team can pass the ball for only three times before passing it to the opposing team. 3. A player cannot pass the ball twice a row. 4. There are six players on court. 5. You can use any part of your body to pass the ball but you can't hold the ball. Youll learn about the positions and other stuff as you watch the anime. I'll be with you in this fun ride! ^^

Fun fact most people didn’t see the difference from Hinata and Kageyama right from the beginning but I feel like it’s something worth mentionable During their first interaction when Hinata was going to the toilet At the end just before they part way Hinata always used "We" even tho he was alone all along while speaking about victory, and Kageyama always used "I/Me" while talking even tho he was one of the best team. I think it’s a crucial point to understand from when he came from 😊

Maybe in the Patreon comments they already explained to you guys the basics of volleyball, but if not, let me tell you. In professional volleyball when one of the two teams accumulates three won sets, they win the match and the match is concluded, but in high school you only win with 2. A team wins a set when it reaches or exceeds 25 points with an advantage of two (example: with 25-23 it is won, but with 25-24 we would have to wait for 26-24 and so on as long as neither of the two teams fails the two points advantage). Every time the ball falls on the opponent's floor, a point is earned. You can use all parts of your body to prevent the ball from touching the floor, but you cannot hold the ball or touch it twice in a row. There are more rules, but for now that's the basics. About the positions that will be explained in more detail in the next chapters.

The way I immediately subscribed before even watching the whole thing😭 Gonna follow this journey!! Oh how to watch Haikyuu again for the first time. People might say it's just anime, no broo, it's not just because it's volleyball, but the life lessons? tear to my eye. Like that "we haven't lost yet" of Hinata, and more of them as the show goes on. It's great to see people who are not playing sports and watching this and enjoying it. *And as for the rules and such, I'm sure people here in the comment section are way more active and willing to give info. Throughout the show, especially this season 1, there are times where they constantly explain the positions and rules, so we don't mind you guys pausing on those moments. Okay, so the deal with the bench is that there's an unlimited number of spots on the team, but only a limited number of players can be on the court. Six on the court itself, and six on the bench. If you have more than twelve players on a team, some of them are going to have to sit in the bleachers with the audience.
