@@gambar Easy explanation, the agent did indeed try to dodge it hence the bullet being a slightly different angle. Agents don’t really use super speed much & a basic explanation for this is they are programmes designed as humans with some hacks. The programme (agents) can counter bullets when properly prepared but they still have human limits.

Many of the concepts brought forward in this movie were not as commonplace as they are today. In 1999 most people barely had a working computer in their home, mobile phones were extremely simple, the internet was in it's infancy - it was quite the spectacle, ground breaking and set the standard in hollywood for years. The biggest thing for this movie was that no-one had any idea what it was about beforehand because it was never discussed. They just showed cool shots on the trailers. It was a real mind blower.

Fun fact about the helicoptor crash making the glass in the building ripple before it shattered: the movie did that as a stylistic choice but years after the Matrix came out and as super slow motion cameras developed, they found out that glass will actually ripple just like that before it shatters from an impact, the ripple just happens in a fraction of a second before the glass actually shatters.

25 years ago. Super-monumental. The Wachowskis' 3rd film following Assassins (1995) & Bound (1996). Blending together all the things that nobody would think could be done in a movie, all at the same time. Obviously it's a established universe before we know it's origins. But the ideas of reality, science and philosophy metaphorically define what it means to live in it. It's made in a way that's not too complicated to understand it, yet it does trigger some kind of need to study. Among Keanu Reeves' most iconic films out of the 1990s. Veteran actor Laurence Fishburne (no longer Larry) as Morpheus is like the best mentor. Carrie-Anne Moss was a model turned actress and mostly known for tv, as Trinity she totally shined as the next new action heroine. Hugo Weaving as Agent Smith is one of the best villains ever. Everything that went into this movie is unprecedented. One-liners, constant jewels of knowledge, action sequences, wardrobe, special effects and all are part of the cultural vocab (Free Your Mind, Dodge This, What Is The Matrix?, Whoa!, etc). For 1999, it won 4 Oscars out of many awards, had the highest opening weekend, the highest grossing Rated-R film and the first DVD to sell more than a million copies. If your going further down the rabbit hole, watch The AniMATRIX (anime short films) first and then The 2003 sequels.

"The Biblical references! I'm rollin' with them!" Ahhhh, Angelina.... The entire movie is a Biblical reference. This is a Messiah story. The guy who comes in from the outside to save the people from The System. The Woman in the Red Dress scene is the message meant for the Messiah: You're going in to save these people from The System, but they are so dependent on The System that they will kill you for trying.

The plot mechanics are Jesus - The One, the one who goes before to make the way for him, Judas, death and resurrection. But I respectfully disagree that it’s all Biblical. The deeper themes of the Matrix are Buddhist, an equally important layer that could go unnoticed depending on your cultural background. Buddha was not a supernatural atonement for our sins, he was a teacher who saw through the illusions of the mind and spent the rest of his life waking people up, freeing their minds from the invisible prison, and bringing relief from suffering. Relevant themes include not accepting your ego as your fundamental identity (Mr. Anderson), freeing your mind, training the mind with new abilities by noticing the illusoriness of things, this giving you a new experience of being alive (seeing the Matrix code) and so forth.

People that live in the world and yet don't fit in and don't feel comfortable. Until they start living their true Trans selves and no longer have to follow the system's rules. The Matrix is supposed to show what it's like to be Trans. They didn't write it to have anything to do with any biblical messages at all.

Lots of people like to write off Trinity's kiss at the end as a "true love's kiss" trope, but I always like to look at it simply as a strong reminder to Neo in the Matrix that he isn't actually dead, he still exists in the outside world and that if he chooses to, he can just get back up. It's what finally breaks the last bit of doubt and reservation he had and awakens him to seeing the Matrix for what it really is, a computer program that can be manipulated.

24:26 When Trinity says, "No, Neo, that's not true. It can't be true." And Neo asks, "Why?" Trinity doesn't answer him. This is possibly a clue that the Oracle had told Trinity in the past that whoever she falls in love with will be "The One." But she doesn't tell Neo this because, perhaps, she feels its awkward and strange to just tell Neo that she's in love with him, and that the Oracle had prophesied that whoever she falls in love with will be "The One." Trinity not answering Neo clues in the audience without telling them directly, that Neo is "The One." Great storytelling always utilizes subtext, and this movie does a great job at that!

Much like Harry Potter, while there is The One... there never was just one of them. Granted, Agent Smith is no Neville Longbottom, but both were needed so that their counterparts could fulfill the overarching destiny.

The explanation is that Trinity was told she would love The One, and she knows she's in love. No one can tell her she's in love. She just knows it, through and through. She knows it so much, that even the supposed death of the man she loves is not enough to dissuade her from believing he's The One, and therefore not dead. The explanation is that love conquers all, even death. It's ROMANTIC!

Loved you watching the Matrix! ♥️ Glad to know your channel :D Matrix is one of my favorite movies/franchises of all my life. Matrix Reloaded is my favorite, the Wachowski sisters made continuations where they expanded the movie in all the ways - explored more that world, that story, the philosophy in it, the action scenes, the characters, all of it. I really suggest watching the sequels you can get a lot of cool moments from it. (And Animatrix too, a collection of animations in Matrix universe, one of THE BEST things from the franchise c: )

One of the most perfect movies ever made, so good, so well executed, still holds up even 25 years later. I would highly recommend checking out the Animatrix if you decide to go forward with the sequels. It’s a series of nine shorts made by different Japanese animation houses, it’s a stunning collection of different perspectives on the world of The Matrix and one of them ties directly into the events of Reloaded. The sequels were kind of hated at the time, mainly because internet speculation and hype was impossible to live up to, but I always enjoyed them for what they are and think they are worth seeing. Check them out and see for yourself.

Yeah, Angelina. This is the film that revolutionized the industry forever that defines the use of CGI and VFX. It also brings out the dilemma of how we’re getting used to technology in such a way that now, we can’t imagine living our lives without it except for those who lived before us. The scene where Cyber actually admitting to the team that he wants to return being trapped in that prison because to him, at least he won’t be in a world where it’s a literal hell reminds me of a TV show called Continuum where future terrorists traveled to the past to enact their movement to secure their legacy. In one episode, there was this girl who recently joined the revolution that was telling one of the members how we need to open our eyes to the truth and he said the one thing that I still remember to this day and I quote, “But some prefer to sleep.” This statement shows how easy it is for us to believe in a lie because we get swayed to the pleasures and materials of this world that when we’re told otherwise, we reject it because it’s hard, if not, impossible to accept it. With that being said, we must be very careful of what we see and hear since not every thing is as it seems.

The Oracle told Neo that he COULD be the One, but it was like he was waiting for something, and that either he or Morpheus would die. His Death/Trinity's confession is what he was waiting for, so he could be reborn as the One. You were right about the biblical imagery, and Neo's death and resurrection as the One is part of that.

I love all the details in this movie.. Neo being an anagram for One. The Oracle saying that he's waiting for something, and that perhaps he would become the one in a following life.. only for him to get shot, die, and come back.. a following life.. and perhaps the very best joke in this is that the Oracle gives him a cookie.. in a computer simulation.. Stuff like that makes me chuckle

Everything was well explained in the movie, it's just a matter of paying more attention to the movie and less to the camera next to the movie. Some people miss some stuff when watching for the first time, but everything makes sense when watching a second time because the "cryptic" sentences are about later events that you already watched and know about, like the Oracle saying that Neo is not The One but "maybe in the next life", and how Morpheus knew how to help Neo escape the Agents at his office because he was watching the Matrix code from the outside.

My favourite thing about this story is that it it challenges the heroic arc. The story in the Heroic Arc is that the mentor always dies. In Star Wars, that's Obi-Wan Kenobi, for example, the mentor figure dies so the hero can rise. So if the Matrix was following the Heroic Arc, Morpheus would die. But what's really interesting is that he doesn't. He attempts to make the sacrifice, and Neo says no, goes back into the system and saves him. That's fascinating to me.

"Why are they all wearing the same shades?" Those agents are shady characters, aren't they. The Matrix definitely resembles Inception... and vice versa. The main difference is in the Matrix, they all share the same dream, because they are linked by computers. Everyone's experiences are stored on a computer, or group of computers, that act as the gameserver. Whereas, with Inception they share the same dream, because they are linked by rubber tubes filled with drugs. Their experiences are stored in a single person's brain, that acts as the gameserver. Inception is a great movie, but its mechanics kinda break down, if you think about it too much. It's basically the Matrix with drugs instead of computers. I am glad you finally got to this movie. It really impacted pop culture in a big way. It also is likely one of those films with an expiration date. There will come a time, when corded public phones will no longer make sense. It's also close to the point, where few remember the significance of phones, when it comes to computer communication and why they likely used phones to represent the entrance and exit to The Matrix. Still, the experience is pretty easy to understand. It's just close to the point, where it's not going to have the same significance for newlings, as it did for originians. Still, the idea of living in a simulation is a pretty appealing idea for a film concept. I am pretty pleased that you were able to view this as a new experience. Look forward to more previously uncovered but classic films.
