Something that really helps me ignore outside pressures is to consciously say in my mind before the shot to “give the shot the respect it deserves.” I don’t do it for every shot but on some shots I feel nervous about I do, and I do it every time I’m shooting the nine ball. I used to get really nervous running through a rack and getting on the nine ball having a straight in shot and blowing it. I was in gambling match where I blew it 7 times in a couple sets of 5 then ran the last rack and blew it on the straightest of the straight shot. I’m nervous about losing the money and other people who put side bets losing their money and being mad at me but repeating that mantra consciously before the nine really has helped me forget about it.

Playing tired sucks. I am relatively old so later on in tournaments I get the "ukkk who cares" attitude, just get me home. Leads to me rushing and giving up games that I shouldn't. For me, it ain't gonna get better, cause I keep getting older. lol

I have the 11.8 as well and not really sure how to get a draw stroke going on it. I have the Kamui Medium and came from a 13mm. I feel like I always kill the ball instead… any advice?
@Amateur_Pool
@Amateur_Pool 25 күн бұрын
@BCBbaseballplayer in my experience, draw shot has little to do with the cue.. it's all about the stroke. Like up with bottom, then close your eyes when you stroke. See if that draws the ball..
@poolmaster3727
@poolmaster3727 25 күн бұрын
@@BCBbaseballplayer chalk up, aim to have the top of the tip hit the bottom curvature of the cue ball, have a super loose grip(like holding a baby bird), don’t have an extreme angle pointed downward instead spread out your fingers so your bridge lowers down and you parallel to the table, go in a straight line forward making sure to not try to hit the object ball but to hit through it, and keeping in mind that you are only accelerating on the forward part not the backstroke, you are not hitting the ball harder so don’t tense up just hit it faster

@@BCBbaseballplayer in short, stroke it don’t poke it and have a nice follow through in a straight line no matter if you lift up the cue or not
@poolmaster3727
@poolmaster3727 25 күн бұрын
Also keep in mind youre not hitting through the object ball and hoping the cue ball ends up where you want, you’re actually forcing the cue ball there. It can’t go anywhere else because you are putting it there.

You could tell you weren't yourself. Not taking anything away from Hunter, he shot well. In fact, he has a really good stroke. Not sure why you didn't take a chance cutting that 9 down in the corner? I forget what rack, but the one you ended up trying cross-side because you didn't want to cut it in the side. I thought the % favored the cut to the corner.

It’s actually based on a real middle eastern guy who had a soup stand in midtown Manhattan( I think close to Hell’s Kitchen). When the producers and seinfield went to see how he was doing after the episode released, the soup nazi said they ruined his reputation and no soup for you despite the show growing his business like 10 fold.

@Amateur_Pool

See, I feel the opposite. If you under cut and miss, the object ball bounces back towards the center of the end rail. If you over cut and miss, the ball is left in the pocket for the opponent.

Don’t under cut or over cut, just make the ball. A plan to fail puts doubt in your mind so play for a side of the pocket instead of thinking about missing the ball
