If you freeze that 7 ball to the rail, that cross side turns into a double kiss bank to that corner, but the ball bends into the pocket and this 1 didn't. That along with the speed of the bank attempt i would say he meant it in the corner as it went. Also the path of the cue was more of an outside spin that you wouldnt want to bank the cross side.

Very first time I ever played in a pool tournment my first opponent was 74 years old. Me, I'm an APA 5/5. Not just a 5/5, a good 5/5. I watched this old man kind of warm up. He can barely make it around the table. Breathing heavy between shots. Getting down on a shot for him was his head barely tilted forward, then jab at a ball. I got this. Then, I break and run a handful of balls before I play defense (felt bad against the old guy), but he kicks out of it but leaves me a shot, I go out..... I break dry. Pops makes his way to the table, but it was a struggle... looks at me, looks back at the table. Get's down lower on his shot. Much lower. I see his open bridge quietly go to a closed bridge, finger wrapped very precisely over the cue. Somehow makes shot after shot that might be his last dying breath, but the balls are solid center pocket... cue ball is amazingly just in the right shape. Watching him, I'm thinking he needs an ambulance waiting outside to come get the corpse. But for the fact that he took the next 5 racks in about 7 innings, all the while looking like his heart is on it's last beat after every shot. Amazing what you can do... while you're dying. But hey, I got to watch and learn.

I come to learn so... two shots, first rack. Would you consider, instead of stunning to the 5 ball, top left to the short rail and drifting into position? Second shot, same rack, you mentioned playing too soft but if you watch the cueball trajectory, you could have 4-railed into perfect position on the 8 ball (Shane plays it this way alot). What do you think?

I do think "Pat" intended the 7 ball bank to the corner. I'm bad enough at this game that I could be dead wrong, but from the angle he had I don't see avoiding the double kiss going for the cross side, no matter how much inside you put on it. Either way, fun to watch. Thanks, bro!

A few comments on the match. Don't take yourself out of the match before it begins. In the first rack. Why didn't you draw back on the 13? Easy. Plenty of shots if you get back to the left side long rail. Don't try to break out balls that have a pocket. You do this many times in your matches. Don't listen to the second ball break haters. They don't know anything. lol In the last rack I think you had a safe on the 5. Even if you leave the 11, I think he has a tough out.

You should either stop using so much inside english , or spend some time learning how much it changes the cut angle{which is really hard} especially with distance. You can do the same thing with high and low most of the time, see Dr Dave stuff on You Tube, all those bobbled balls are from using too much english. and changing the cut angle.

I played in a league for a while, we were doing ok and had a chance to play for our city championships, we went to a bar and I was there all day everyone was playing so slow, then I am up it's for all the marbles ,All I have to do is beat my opponent, I was a 6 and they said this guy is a 5 , in walks a guy I could not beat getting a good spot , and I have to spot him, I didn't win a game. That was enough for me. I was not going to go pay money to play every week to play horrible so I could be a lower level.
