Less than four months have flown by, and it's almost time to say goodbye to KAIST, my dorm, and all my exchange friends.😭💗 Before I get too sad about going back home, I still have a couple of things to tackle: finals and a bunch of assignments.🥹📚🎧
My week starts with grinding for finals and working hard on written assignments as well as group projects.🦦☀️ I was quite lucky to have only one exam, so the pressure wasn't too heavy. I spent most of my time at the cozy library, where you can choose a seat in a collaboration room, a sleeping pod, a silent reading room, or just a regular seat.📖📝 I also took some breaks between study sessions to avoid getting overwhelmed by the work.✨🦋
A friend of mine visited Daejeon from Seoul, so another friend and we showed him some great spots in Daejeon. We played some baseball and tried to win some stuffed animals.🧸🎁 Later that day, we visited Yuseong Foot Bath to relax our feet for a while. We also went to the most famous and best restaurant near the KAIST campus. Chinese duck paired with some beer was just incredible.🦆🍻 Enjoying a cup of makgeolli and playing some arcade games was so fun that I did it again on Sunday with a different group of people.🤣🎶🪩🥳 It was my last weekend in South Korea, so it was a great opportunity to hang out for the last time and say goodbye at the end of the day.😔👋
After completing my final exam, I had to prepare for my departure back home. Doing laundry and packing was mentally difficult since I really didn't want to leave.🧺🫧 Before leaving the campus, we needed to clean, submit a moving-out checklist, and return our blankets. I did all the cleaning and checking out on the day of departure.✅🛌
A taxi took me from the KAIST campus to a local airport bus stop, where I took an airport bus to Incheon Airport Terminal 1. It took around 3 hours, but it can be up to 4 hours depending on traffic. 🚌🏙️ During the bus ride, I enjoyed my last views of the beautiful scenery of South Korea. At the airport, I managed to check my slightly overweight luggage and made it through security.🛂 Soon, my plane took off from Incheon Airport.🛫
During my 13-hour flight, we battled some turbulence, but I still managed to eat my dinner without spilling anything.😮‍💨☁️ I had been eagerly waiting for Finnair’s blueberry juice, which always tastes the same and is super yummy.🫐🧃 Watching Dune 1 & 2 kept me entertained, and I was able to get a good 7.5 hours of sleep on the plane. Finally, we safely landed at Helsinki Airport, 50 minutes ahead of schedule.😴🌅🇫🇮
