So, in a typical day, a 'marriage market' in the U.S. would have 1,000 women showing up and only 100 men (at most 100 men)... and at the end of the day, most women would go home alone, unless they are willing to share those men..

I thought that the Chinese in the mainland were more open to outsiders but come to think of it and now that you mention it's the same here is the states. If you notice first generation Chinese Americans, they keep to themselves and remain kinda invisible, nowhere to be seen. Outside of China town, where else do they live? I don't see them hang out anywhere. Do they like take public transportation? I don't see them taking the bus, trains, in parks, working out at the gym, shopping at the malls. I do see a few of them in school, but you mostly see them working at their stores, shops or local businesses. But where else do they go afterwards? Its really a mystery. I guess they self-isolate themselves and voluntarily wish to have no contact with the outside world. I think we should look into this a bit further and figure out what exactly is going on within their inner world. Are they like trying to hide something perhaps? Who knows, but it would be interesting to find out.
