Great initiative veeray, love to see my dad's city where he worked as a cop . I remember he had mentioned 40 railway stations in lahore city , didn't quite got his feelings about this city . But your video definitely changed my prospectives , by seeing proper drains / gutters , natural gas connections. Amazed to see all . Felt the raja jaipal,s chownk . आज के समय में अधिकतर मकान 35-40 साल के लगभग जर्जर अवस्था में होने लगते हैं उनकी लकड़ी को भी दीमक लग जाती है लेकिन यह हवेलियां 80 से 100 सालों तक या उससे भी अधिक पुरानी है लेकिन इनकी लकड़ी, ईट आज भी बगैर देखभाल के कितनी मजबूत अवस्था में है अगर समय रहते इनकी थोड़ी ही मरम्मत हो जाए तो यह अपनी प्रभावशाली अपने गौरवशाली इतिहास में लौट आए

Amazing past stories of people who lived in these equally amazing havelies. At 4.28 you mention that Kilpa Ram had an eyeglass making workshop. The subcontinent used to have the highest GNP in the world in the 1900's because of these small scale manufacturing industries. People were hardworking and willing to earn and make a name for themselves. Even in Europe before the industrial revolution, small cottage industries was the norm. It was only after with steam power and cheap cotton that bigger mills came about, which with profits became factories.
