Baalwala Travels, a passionate explorer, embarked on a journey to Dina, a charming city nestled in the Jhelum District of the Punjab province in Pakistan. His sole purpose was to find the iconic Gulzar House, the birthplace of the legendary Gulzar. Recognized as an Indian Urdu poet, lyricist, author, screenwriter, and film director, Gulzar is celebrated for his remarkable contributions to Hindi cinema and revered as one of the greatest Urdu poets of our time. Along the way, Baalwala couldn't resist the opportunity to delve into Gulzar's early life. He made sure to visit the train station, a place that held nostalgic memories for the maestro, as it symbolized his countless journeys to pursue his dreams. Furthermore, Baalwala also stopped by the school where Gulzar received his education, allowing him to walk in the footsteps of the genius and gain a deeper understanding of the environment that shaped his remarkable talent.

Few days back, famous actor of Superhit Mahabharat TV serial Gufi Paintal alias Shakuni Mama left this world. He was also from Lahore. Internationally famous Pran Kumar Sharma popularly known as Walt Disney of India famous for Children Comics and famous Cartoonist of Children magazine Lotpot was from Kasur. After partition they migrated. Kindly make their ancestral houses and birth places videos also. Thanks.

Thanks Brother for your time and efforts. In my opinion, after the death of my teacher in College Ahmed Faraz Marhoom, Gulzar Sahib is now a days the biggest poet of Urdu. Beautiful video well done, my grandfather had villa in model town Lahore.unfortunately I couldn’t visit it. Now I am immigrated to Sweden but still I think of my grandfather villa in Lahore that he built after working in irrigation department of Punjab as engineer qualified from roorkie university in early 1900. He worked hard and studied hard but lost his loving villa during partition.

The nostalgia and memories , especially childhood ones, torment the soul. Even those who willingly leave for greener pastures, second guess their decision to migrate in twilight years of life. Worldly affairs keep them from revisiting. Even if one goes back, the near and dear ones are gone or the relationships weaken over long absences. You are a stranger and a formality in your own home. Sometimes, it is worse to go back - that is why Amrita Pritam refused to see Lahore. Many Desis have no desire to go back if the memories were not pleasant. I wonder if nomads feel the same way? Do they feel sad when they uproot to the next place? The attachment is to the older homes and neighborhoods that were built in harmony - there is no feeling for cookie cutter mansions of today.

Innumerable times listened to Gulzar Poetry in form of filmi songs but you, vide your narration have, given soul to these songs. May be by linking these to the place he was born into, soil where he played and kids he played with. Perhaps parting with one's watan is the biggest loss which can never be equated with any compensation. Thanks for referring to Krishan Chander through his story and your rich voice. Really well made video ...Gulzar actually stsys very close to my home in Mumbai and I see him often. My father ( Late Amritlal Bhatia ) and his family were from a place called as Kothnazibullah, district Haripur Hazara. Ny father was 14 years old when they migrated to India and he had vivid memories of his house. He would alwayz talk about koth.
