Finding Fossils - Ledge of Fossils

Only with the change of area will I could find different fossils... or not. With that thought in mind, I decided to go to a place quite far from my home in search of fossils. I had never been there before and I was just guided by some online information from geological maps and the result was so good, that I am preparing a second visit. Something tells me there's a lot left to explore there.
The area is basically all Cretaceous (Turonian) and I have a feeling that in addition to the specimens I brought, there must still be many more fossils there...

Outstanding finds. Especially that echnoid I have never even found a piece of one. Congratulations!!!! Really cool bivalves I am so wanting to go exploring now ☺. My lower back and right hip have been really hurting lately. It's been hard to walk very far. I think once the weather is cooler I will feel more like getting out. However your videos make me so happy for you. The vineyards are beautiful very very pretty country. I am also glad you don't take foolish chances to dig out a fossil from those rock ledges. They looked very unstable to me. To many places where the cracks could drop a rock on your head. Your collection is getting so large. You need a bigger office 😉. You really have made it beautiful though with the lights. I am planning something on a smaller scale when I get my little house finished. I have 7 more payments then I will own it yeah. Hello my great friend! I'm a little worried to hear you've got back pain. This is an ailment that also afflicts me from time to time. Sometimes what works for me is massages and stretching, but very calmly. I've even been recommended to do a little Pilates or swimming.... but even seeing the massages relieves a little. I'm really glad you liked the video, there are a lot of vineyards there and the morning smell of the plants when we go there early in the morning is just amazing. In addition, I discovered some very good places to relax and have a picnic. heheh! The Collection is really growing and it's very beautiful with the lights, however I have limited space... which is good, otherwise I would fill the house with fossils to the ceiling. So, I only keep the best and rarest ones in the collection, the others I give, change or keep in an area of my backyard. (One of these days I'll have enough to build a castle heheheh) A big hug and best wishes my friend!! 😊😘😘😘👍👍🙏🦖 🦕🌲 🌳

Well,that was one of your best! I assume by the appearance of the ground you have had some rain recently! I really enjoy the videos of the countryside.Things are so beautiful in the hills and around the vineyards! My wife and myself really enjoyed your short swing over looking the country,I would have spent more time there.An echinoid !! very very nice.I am still amazed how closely the rock types containing the rudists where you collected are to the rudist sediments we were mining in Texas.Great video,really enjoyable keep them coming.

Hello my friend! Yes, it's true, we finally had some rain around here. After the dry season, a small rain is always welcome, in addition to making the soil very soft for digging. I still sat on the swing for a while, but as I wanted to look for fossils I just stayed there for a few minutes, and I plan on going back to see if I can find more echinoids and ... from what I read on the internet there are also ammonites there, but they are rare. Olá Zé! It wasn't hard to find out where you were exploring. I looked it up on the geological map (Carta Geologico de Portugal 30-D) and according to the legend you where searching in the Jurassic, J4, Kimeridgiano, Complexo Pteroceriano, incluendo as camadas com lima pseudo-alternicosta. Interresting finds and as always I enjoyed your video. And I love baloiços! 😁

Hello my friend. For a moment I was in doubt if I was wrong in the caption. In fact the area of the swing is different from the area where I found the fossils. I went to consult the geological chart and the places where I found the fossils are classified with the legend C3 (Cretaceous - Turonian) it's just a very small range, but that's where I found the fossils. Thank you so much for calling my attention. By the way, the place is very close to Runa. Thanks!!
