Finding Fossils - The Sanctuary

I went again to a new area, to explore what seemed to me on google earth a small sanctuary on top of a hill in the middle of some boulders.
The area around it seemed a little poor in terms of fossils, however in terms of scenery it was fantastic. I walked through hills and valleys until my luck began to change and it was at the bottom of a valley that I began to find fossils of rudists in large quantities. The day was full of surprises..

Thank you again for the tour of the beautiful country! That little 'rainbow" appears to be a part of a sun dog forming in the ice clouds you are seeing.The limestone you collected the rudists in looks just like the limestones we mined in Texas for lime production! The Texas limestone also contained several rudist species and a red colored material like you showed. The red material in Texas was a dolomite that was in irregular masses in the limestone.Keep up the enjoyable videos and don't forget to share views of the countryside as you travel!😀

I'm always learning from you, friend. I didn't know that the little rainbow was called sun dog... hehehehe! Today was more of an exploration tour than a fossil collection tour, however I found the red veins in the rocks very interesting, since a few times when I found them I usually find rudists. The place I went to is really far from my house and I was convinced that there would be ammonites there, but it wasn't this time. One of these days....I'm going to find one. Thank you so much for your support and for your comment. 😄

@@leonardodtc1493 Yes, we have a lot of fossils, specialy from marine life. But there's a few spots where are fossils from dinossaur, specialy Lourinhã. But that kind of fossils are out of reach for me.

@@zejurassico That is so fun, I live in Massachusetts so fossils are not that common, but people regularly find trilobites, me myself have only found a big clam which I still have to this day.

Hello my dear friend. I lost my old KZfaq account, my phone, and my Facebook. Can't remember all the passwords so I am starting all over. I absolutely love the rudist and other fossils. Losing your phone is really very troublesome... but there are more important things. I hope all is well with you my friend. Today's tour was more exploration than fossil collection, however I managed to find some really cute specimens to put in my collection. Don't be sad on the phone, it's just a material asset that can be easily replaced, and the problem of having to create new accounts can even be an opportunity to redo things in a better way.Kisses and happy fossil hunts! 😘😘😊
