@@ShootFilmLikeaBoss Joking aside, it is odd how different cameras impact on the way you shoot, how you shoot and the resulting images. Choosing a camera for a shoot is just as important as the glass you choose and the film you stick in it. Whilst the film stock and the glass will have the biggest impact on the final image, for me at least, the camera I choose to use has the biggest impact in terms of how I shoot. I am fortunate to have a large selection of systems to choose from! Everything from 110 to 4x5. 😏

I’ve been following your channel for a while and I wanted to say that I’m loving the humour, energy and sharing your putting in your blogs. My wife was watching with me and says : I don’t understand what is the interest in his photography (she doesn’t speak English), when I explained that you took an opportunity regarding the weather you were dealing with to go out and shoot to experiment a subject,film stock and just have a day out and a walk witch would mean printing and develop afterwards then she got the gift. I often tell her I’m not feeling like going for a shoot because I’m not inspired, picking a subject before leaving the house actually makes sense and I will try it out ! Take care

Love the pace of this video. Your deliberate approach really yielded some fantastic images. Hi Roger, great video as always ! Do you find yourself wanting a more automatic camera, even though you like to print in the darkroom ? I've been thinking about this for a while, it might seem strange, but I miss a bit of automation when I shoot with my Pentax Spotmatic, even though it would be my dream to build my own darkroom one day, sometimes autofocus and autoexposure can be a handy tool to make the creative decisions, maybe because I'm struggling with manual focusing.
@ShootFilmLikeaBoss
@ShootFilmLikeaBoss 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Ryan. I like shooting the Nikon f90x and F5 for its accurate auto shooting. Don't have to think in aperture priority. Just choose your aperture and off you go. Usually when I'm shooting street objects. But. Sometimes if the sky is involved I have to lock my exposure where I'm happy. Usually my metering is set to matrix

Maybe its a British thing but the first thing I look at when planning a shoot is what's the weather going to be, not what camera or film or what to shoot. Weather first, always. I should shoot more close ups. I get pulled into taking vistas, somehow I feel vistas have more 'value' (which is rubbish) and is a mindset I have to shift but as I'm counting the pennies to buy film at the moment I feel I need to make every shot count. I should also shoot more b&w but I associate b&w with industrial, which to be honest their ain't much of where I live. Preconceptions and bad habits!

Love your videos, 'inspiration for normal folks' I call them. Have you ever considered doing a video for photographers with a disability? Photographing while using a walking stick? Walking frame? Wheelchair even? I'm sure there must be others who'd very much appreciate it.

More often than not yes. Less gear in my pocket and just that lens to think about. Sometimes I would kick myself if I wanted say a wider angle and I only got a 50mm! Sometimes I take a 28 and a 50 and wear a bum bag around my waist. But mostly just one lens.
