LUBUAGAN IN KALINGA WAS THE CAPITAL OF THE FIRST PHILIPPINE REPUBLIC FOR 73 DAYS IN 1900.
Hidden away from plain sight, the town appears suddenly as you turn a corner.
From Sagada to Kalinga is a much improved but still fairly dangerous ride through an impressive river valley - we follow this today!

Hi Kumander Daot, I’m from Lubuagan, Kalinga.. indeed Lubuagan was once the Capital of the Philippines during the time of Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo. The Spanish were never able to rule this part of the Philippines. Back on March 6th, 1900, Emilio Aguinaldo actually declared Lubuagan the "seat of government" of the First Philippine Republic. For 72 days, this place acted as "the capital" of the country! That’s why he has a statue near our Plaza to commemorate the once Capital of the Philippines.. Thank you for featuring our hometown in your vlog! Come visit again to see other beautiful tourist spots here in our municipality, Lubuagan, Kalinga😄

Awesome awesome drone shots. The cordillera is truly beautiful and as you document each town’s history and scenic spots, I have this feeling of pure joy. Thank you so much KD for bringing our home on screen for us (Cordi natives) to view places we miss and once again treasure and be privileged of what we have and who we are. This video is also worth dedicating to all the people who toiled hard in the past and in the present by clearing and opening safer roads for travellers. Stay safe always! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
