I open this video while I was in sleep this girl wake me up with her wonderful explanation, keep it up hard working team.

The easier method to find the unit's digit of a square root: Multiply the 10's digit by its next consecutive number. Ex. 1024 the units digit is either 2 or 8. The 10's digit is 3. 3x4=12, which is larger than 10. So the smaller option of 2 is the answer. Ex. 2 . 1369 The unit's is 3 or 7. The 10's digit is 3. 3x4=12, which is smaller than 13. So the larger number 7 is taken. And to know the 2 options of the unit's digit you dont have to find the sq root of the unit's digit of the number and then subtract from 10. This is clearly shown in the the table of squares from 1 to 10. If a sq ends in 1 its root will be 1 or 9, for 4 you have 2 or 8, for 6 it is 4 or 6 and for 9 it is 3 or 7. 5 and 0 have the same number.

Would like to add the following: For the square root section e.g square root of 1369, once you know the possible square roots i.e 33 or 37, you can also follow this approach: 1. take the hundredth position of possible square roots and multiple with next digit in sequence. 3x4 = 20 2. Compare thousandth and hundredth position of the original number (1369) to the value in step 1. If it’s less than 20, then 33 is the square root. If it’s greater than 20, then 37 is the square root.

- if a number is a perfect square, then it will have 0, 1, 4, 5, 6, and 9 as it's unit's digit - if a number ends with 0, 1, 4, 5, 6, and 9, then it may be a perfect square. not all numbers ending with such are necessarily square numbers - no perfect square number ends in 2, 3, 7, or 8 _how to identify the unit digit of a square of a number by looking at the number itself_ - if a number ends has 1 or 9 in its unit digit, then the square of that number will have 1 in its unit digit - this applies with 2 and 8 whose square's unit digit will be 4, 3 and 7 whose square's unit digit will be 9, 4 and 6 whose square's unit digit will be 6, 5 whose square's unit digit will be 5, and the multiple of 10 whose square's unit digit will be 0 _how to identity a square root of a number using radix maths (e.g. √1024)_ 1. look at the unit digit of the given and square root it. - in finding the √1024, the square's unit digit is 2 because √4 = 2 2. then, subtract the answer you got to 10 - the difference of 2 and 10 is 8 3. the square root and difference are the possible unit's right of the square. the second pair of digits will tell you what are the tens digit of the square root - the square root is 2 and the difference is 8. the first pair is 24 and the second pair is 10 4. find a square number less than your second pair. it is the tens digit of the number - 9 is the number before 10. √9 = 3 so the square root of √1024 may be 32 or 38 - if your given's before number is not a perfect square, any before it can work. (e.g. in the given √1369, we'll use 9 instead of 12 as its not a perfect square) 5. to find the right answer between the two choices, check if the multiple of 5 are greater than the given. if so, the lower choice is correct and vice versa - nearest multiple of 5 is 35. 35² is 1225. we know that it cannot exceed 1024, therefore 32 is the right choice _how to find the square of the multiples of 5 that end with 5 (e.g. 35²)_ 1. take the number before 5 and multiply it with the next number - 3 x 4 = 12 2. the product will be placed in the hundreds while 25 will be in the ones and tens - 12 + 25 = 1225

This method shows how to calculate roots of perfect squares. If the number is not a perfect square (has a remainder) this method does not work.

I m very weak in mathematics so it seems confusing to see calculating 35² in between though i have got the hang of it from other videos but someone else may get confused too someone probably weak like me. Here’s another way to figure if it’s 33 or 37: Multiply 3x4. If the number is higher than 12, then it’s 37. If it’s lower, then it’s 33. Same goes for 1024. 10 was lower than 12, so you went with the lower number. If you tried 2601, the last digit of the square root is either 1 or 9…but which one? The closest square to 26 is 25. The square root of 25 is 5. Multiply 5x6, and you get 30. Since 26 is lower than 30, you go with the lower number, thus, the square root of 2601 is 51, not 59.
