Micah's leadership wasn't all that great either, her counts were very repetitive and her musicality and formations needed work mind you she's also a very talented dancer. But I'm sorry, Gabby would've been a better choice to stay captain as she had what the team needed while staying traditional. Micah was safe and brought nothing innovative. It's sad that everytime somebody praises Jordan that's the first knee jerk response. I bet the same was said about Dani and now she's on the legends panel.

LadyJ2389 throwing counts isn’t leadership is what I’m saying. Being a leader is the stuff that goes on when the camera is off. Can she teach effectively, does she demand and garner the same respect as past leaders, all these things the staff and coordinator likely take into consideration when they choose a captain.

@@sbeasley7100 Haymer named Jordan captain before he left. That's why she led during parade season during Dani's 5th rip. She also performed all the Captain duties over the spring and summer. When Haymer was fired and Taylor replaced him as BD, Taylor named Gabby (16') Captain over Jordan (15'). He cut Mel the Tail (15') during tryouts too. It was a really unpopular decision at the time because most people felt some type of way about skipping an entire crab class in favor of 16'. Also, most considered Taneria or Micah from 16' a better pick if you had to choose class standouts.

@@th7702 exactly. Gabby was a personal fave but even I pinned Taneria/ Micah for leadership back in 2016. I saw her potential in ‘17 but her sisters were major standouts and ultimately Jordan was groomed for it. Taylor made a bold choice that set Doll fans off. @S Beasley, if you listen to the interviews the girls had with Morgan Williams, Gabby explains how in an unusual turn of events she was named Captain. She was happy but then VERY apprehensive and had to pray on it. Jordan explained how the Captain is usually chosen before hand, but at try outs she found out that it was taken away and she was hurt. They both endured a VERY hard year.
