I’m going to cosmetology school and he did a really good job. With only using one pair of old school scissors. Those other scissors he uses are thinning sheers. And water helps when thinning out the hair. Which is just adding some layers and body to the hair

Here’s the going rate for grooming services where I used to live in Karachi: Haircut = 500 Head massage with or without oil = 300 Neck and shoulder massage =500 Beard trim = 250 Facials = starting at 500 I don’t think you got ripped off so bad Karl. Understood this wasn’t a great locale, but those really are the rates even at the most average old school barbershops these days. There was a definitely a “foreigner tax” applied to your bill, but it was only small 🙂

As an Indian, I don’t understand why all the Pakistanis here are supporting Karl’s assertion and are upset. Karl got a good haircut, a beard trim, and an amazing massage by Karl’s own admission. He was charged equivalent of 12 USD. In Bombay, you’ll be charged way more, only for a haircut. In Delhi too. the barber is price discriminating but so what? Dynamic pricing exists in many sphere’s of life...ever buy anything online, price changes all the time. Ever buy stocks? Price is different based on a person’s willingness to pay. If Karl were smarter about this he could have avoided by just asking the price upfront and negotiating upfront. Seriously, I don’t see a major offense here.

To all those saying 2000 is not a fair price, you should see the amount of hard work the old man has put in to massage. Barbers don't do this massage for 300rs. Normal hair cut without even beard trimming is 250 to 300 rs. With a light massage (2-3 mins) and beard trimming it is 700+ and the amount of time you were massaged karl (full 15mins of good massage) the price is definitely very reasonable.

Hey Karl, Haircut in Pakistani cities cost on average around 200-250. No way it's 20. You must have heard it wrong. Massage and trim makes it to Rs 700-1000 depending on the place. The greedy guy surely screwed you however it wasn't as much as you would think. Maybe he charged you twice the original amount. Not 10 times 😂

I don't think he ripped you off. I've checked through websites prices in pakistan and found that it range from 2500-5000 for men depending on the service. I'm sure you'd find barbers who charge 400 for a cut and massage but that doesn't mean prices are that low.

The massage was so relaxing I felt sleepy while watching it
