When your barber is smoking while working on you, you’ve officially entered old school. It’s like going back in time when people treated their job like a craft to be mastered.

I’d call it disrespectful, not old school. 🤷‍♂️ He’s undeniably skilled as a barber, and he probably asked if it was fine to smoke next to him. But IDK... I’ve lived with smokers half my life and it is really disgusting.

If you died TODAY, where would you be spending eternity? Have all your sins been forgiven or are you still hoping that you're a good enough person to earn a spot in heaven. The reality is that no one can earn a spot, our sin disqualifies us. But the God news is that Jesus paid for our qualification by dying on our behalf taking the punishment that we deserved. JESUS said, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son; that WHOEVER believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." - John 3:16 Nothing is more important than your eternal destination. Please, don't say, "When I get older I'll get right with God' or 'I'll get serious with Jesus one day when I'm ready.' Don't wait any longer, today is the day of salvation. Get right with God today, for tomorrow very well might be too late. We invite you to REPENT and accept that Jesus Christ is Lord of your life by praying this simple prayer out loud right now... 'Heavenly Father, I turn away from my old life and repent for my sins. I believe that Jesus came for me, that Jesus died for me and that Jesus rose again for me so that I can be forgiven and receive eternal life. I believe in my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus Christ is the Lord of my life from this day. Through Him and in His Name, receive the gift of eternal life. I ask you to fill me with the Holy Spirit and lead me for the rest of my life. In Jesus name - Amen.

I've watched this a few times now in an attempt to fully understand and verbalise why it impresses me so much. It isn't the obvious friendliness and sheer technical talent on display, even though both of those things are amazing in their own right. It's the lack of attempted exploitation of the customer, the assumption that certain elements of the service are expected and included. Like, the barber reflexively washes his hair near the end. Walk into nearly any Western European salon, and that's an additional upcharge right there. Here, it's unquestioningly accepted as part of the process of making the customer look and feel a million bucks when they leave the premises. There's a lot of heart and implicit love behind it, and I think it reminds those of us watching it how much the pursuit of endless profit and nickel-and-diming everyone in sight has leached the power of human kindness out of our everyday interactions. Much love to all ❤

Most of the barbers in Syria are this good especially the ones who have been in the profession for a while, and it's because people used to teach it to their kids as a profession from a young age(not as much as it used to), and the other reason is that they get a lot of practice, cus it's cheap and its a habit for all men to visit the barber at least once a month

However when that happened we'd just go to the mosque at the end of the street and wait for her there, and she'd appear in 5-10 minutes to pick us up. Life was simpler back then, i hope we can return someday.

This was more than a haircut - It was a haircut, massage, chiropractor, mood lifter. If this was in America this would cost about $400 and people would pay it in Los Angeles. I felt tired and relaxed just watching him. I bet it felt SO good. A barber is different than a stylist. There's just something old fashioned and familiar about it. Great video. Wo would've ever thought watching someone getting a haircut would be so nice.

This is Middle Eastern hospitality and artistry at its finest. As a first generation American with roots from Syria...I enjoyed every minute of it (from start to finish)...and laughed a whole bunch along the way. Never seen a Westerner as scared and excited at the same time. This was they truly mean when they say your barber/stylist is also your therapist (in more than one way). Great video! :)

While I was in the Army I got hair cuts in W. Germany, W. Berlin, Korea, Japan and of course on bases all over the U.S. The best ones were the ones I got over seas. You get a cut to Army standards, a excellent shave, mustache trim, eye brows and ears trimmed and waxed. There were manicures, back massages and a final application of cologne before they popped your shoulders. If you were in uniform they'd polish your boots to an unbelievable shine even if they were you field boots that have taken a beating. Now, decades later, I get a cut once every 3 weeks sadly it's just a trim that costs $25. This video was a pleasant memory. Thank you.
