I used to be obsessed with making my sketchbook "neat" until I made a "messy" one to get out of my comfort zone and it was so much fun! Sometimes I think we put to much pressure on ourselves and our art and that's what causes us artblock. Loved the tips 😊

Yes! This is so true, at least for me. I definitely got in my own way when I used to think that my sketchbook had to have “good art” in it. I’ve learned that having fun and just enjoying the making is what worked best for me and often ends up turning into some of my favourite moments ☺️

Absolutely! I had to buy a cheap one from Walmart so that I could feel comfy just doing whatever in it!

What brand of sketchbook are u using? Love ur work!

@@Skinnychelle48 I love the Moleskine brand sketchbook best in the like 5x8 ish inch size. Talens is another brand that works good too, or Strathmore mixed media if you’re going to use paint/wet media frequently.If too nervous about buying the more expensive ones and you want to just go wild I just buy a cheap one at Michael’s with the coupon deal 🤷🏼‍♀️ Maybe I’ll do a video trying out a bunch of different options 🤔

Sketchbook anxiety is definitely a thing for me, though I do go through phases. 8 spreads in 4 days is amazing, and I loved seeing how you use markers! Is that a Muji pen you were using for some of the lines? :)

I totally get that, it’s definitely a bit of mental work sometimes. I found doing a drawing challenge really helped me, and just always setting myself up to make working in my sketchbook as easy as possible! I don’t think Muji brand but it is the same type of pen as them, yes. I’m obsessed with them 😍

I love ur art! Do you have any tips for being motivated to finish my sketchbook? I started it half a year ago and I’ve only filled not even a third of it. At first I was so excited about it but now I want to start an empty one that I bought a while ago but still want to finish this one. Do you have tips to stay motivated and enjoy my sketchbook still while also not taking forever to finish it?

I personally always seem to have a few sketchbooks on the go - it's okay to take time to finish them. My one took me a year and half to finish since I was in and out of it so often. If you're motivated by a challenge though, I find that to be a good way to get some good sketchbook pages in and power through a slump. I may even do a video on this topic since I've been thinking about it a lot over the last year (:
