As the temperatures drop we are now full time using the sauna to warm our bones. The bathhouse is our winter project and we are now starting into getting into the finishing stages of the projects. #tinyhouse #bathroom #outdoor #offgrid #woodworking #familyvlog

Door should definitely swing out. 1. Someone entering won't knock someone else into the sauna stove. 2. In an emergency you can exit quicker and easier.

I love this! I also love that the bench is open on the underside and easy to clean. And it makes the space seem bigger. I can't wait to hear how you like it. Now I want one! haha. (Thank you for asking about the wood glue. I had no idea!)

Bench heights too low, door should swing out. How's the metal door handle treating you? Also where are your vents?
@MountainMapleRanch
@MountainMapleRanch 15 күн бұрын
We have had the sauna for some time now, (5 years) and it's just right. The handles get warm but not hot to the touch where it can burn. When we are finished using the sauna it's attached to our bathhouse that has 2 windows and it vents out fine.

I would have to go back and measure. We actually will be redoing this sauna and making a separate building altogether. My wife requested to have her feet off the ground and in hindsight, I would have not done it that way. I would think 16-18 inches would be a safe number.

That's awesome! What did you use as the shield behind the Harvia?

It's a slate stone tile that was available at our local Lowe's.

Hello, what kind of wood you used for bench boards and support studs?
@MountainMapleRanch
@MountainMapleRanch Жыл бұрын
All of the bench is made of cedar. The structural boards were available with a rough surface finish so I sanded them down before assembly.

How do i determine how to cut the notch and angle for bottom? Thanks
@MountainMapleRanch
@MountainMapleRanch Жыл бұрын
Pythagorean theorem is what was used. It states A2 + B2 = C2 Calculation of finding the hypotenuse of a right triangle. Take the hight along the wall = A2 Take the length of bench away from wall = B2 add those together for the length of the brace between the two measured points. Then to get the angle you need to do a slope ratio best tool is a framing square. This is a tough question, cause it’s best to learn it hands on. When I make another video that requires same building I will probably have Marc explain each step.
