Took a while to get back to this project, and thanks to the 3D printer, things turned out great! It's no puller, but it's a unique and great looking passenger motor car thanks to the boat inspired design and construction. They may not have been that successful in real life thanks to poor mechanical design, but they sure do stand out!

It is amazing to look back at the tools we did not have in this hobby 30-40 years ago. The sky literally is the limit now.

Really terrific build. It turned out fabulously. I am surprised you didn't add passengers and a motorman. Maybe later. Your McKeen looks great. Love the lighting.

Wonderful craftsmanship. I was an HO fanatic as a kid in the early 70s, our house was a huge Victorian with a damp basement, not good for tracks. Thanks for posting this.

I have one of their siderod diesel switchers waiting to be finished, and the parts look great! I have some ideas for powering it, so that's yet another one that'll get worked on eventually (between 1 month and 10 years I'd say).

Very unique looking unit and a very nice addition to your fleet. Great work. You might experiment with SMDs and other LEDS for lighting especially for units you do not want to get back into. Mr.McKeen needs at least a motorman inside. Look forward to future videos. Little N20 motors from China would also make good power trucks.

When the small round window is at the front of the smoker section, that means the bathroom is not next to the vestibule. That 16" diameter round window was for the restroom.

Dang. That is beautiful now.. i like your drive train system too that is nice. Say what type of printer did you use for your designs? I have had issues with some brands in the past and especially with the ender 3.
@DarthSantaFe
@DarthSantaFe 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I’m using the Ender 5. It has an XY movement head so the platform only moves up and down, making the printing process a little more stable.

@DarthSantaFe
@DarthSantaFe 2 жыл бұрын
Yup, I have a whole shelf full of old projects that I'll be finishing over time. Some others I've already finished, like the United 0-6-0 which is currently featured on my channel's banner (may not be visible on phones)! The plan right now is to get a Piko electric done and off the workbench so that I can get the 2nd video of the Arbour 0-4-0 done, and I'm just waiting on a gear to get that project finished.

@@DarthSantaFe Did you ever do a video of the Mantua 4-6-2 in your banner? It has one of the best paint jobs I have ever seen on one of those, and I would have liked to have seen how you did it, especially on the running gear.
@DarthSantaFe
@DarthSantaFe 2 жыл бұрын
@@dastumer Sorry, I didn't do a video for that one. The boiler was spray painted all black, and then I used some lightly thinned Scalecoat II silver enamel with a brush to do the front. The siderods and valve gear were airbrushed white if I remember right, and the I brushed the black parts. After the decals were done, I finished the whole thing with dull coat.

The wire should go underneath the frame instead of down the aisle way spoiled having the interior with having those great big wires in there you could have disguise them all the bottom instead of them being inside our people got to walk down the aisles like that
