I've been digging out the hole for my new pond this morning. This one is going to be just for wildlife. The pond that was in the garden when we moved to our house was all overgrown and full of bulrushes and pond weed but when we cleared it out we found it was full of newts and frogs. Then we put some fish in. They ate the frog and newt spawn every year so it was no longer a wildlife pond.
