If that fuel in the Tank of the Army truck is dark like oil, might need to check into your fuel injection pump. Might have a bad seal letting engine oil contaminate your fuel through the return line to the tank. Great job on the Road! Looking Good 👍👍👍

It appears that the old road went down into a dip, before climbing back up to where you needed to be. The new one is the line of least resistance. It is clearly a great improvement. Watch out, nature does not always like great improvements and tries to wash them away. Your video is a great way to get uplifted, even when things are not what you wanted, you just turn them round and make them successes. The bulldozer has a problem, so you fix it a carry on. Adding the culvert was a sensible way to go forward, acting before you have any risk of flooding or getting hard work washed away. Glad your new road passed its trunking in lorry loads of chippings test.

I find your comments about the rain amusing. I live in the high desert of California and we haven’t had a real rain all year. Last few days a typhoon moved in from Baja and it rained off and on for three days. We just got the edge of it. I’ve been like a kid sitting out in the breezeway listening to the rain falling and water dripping off the roof. Very refreshing.

Your going to have an exceptional rocky road base. I think you will have a much better road this winter to drive on. Great dozer work for a rookie. I served 20 years in the Army Engineers and we had 2 D8 dozers in our platoon among other large construction equipment such as a 275B front end loader, 3 road graders, a crane, motorized rollers, 2 backhoes, 3 large earth scrapers and several 20 ton dump trucks.

I noticed that in one of your earlier episodes that you had written on a white board with a sharpie, happens to everyone. You probably already figured this out. The quickest way to clean it. Is not use any cleaners. Just write over the what was written with the sharpie, and while it’s still wet. With a paper towel just wipe it off. Once you cleaner its to late. Enjoy your progress. A couple things would make that Kubota nicer. Weld a couple grab hooks on the top back of the bucket for hooking chains to and a 3' toothless grading bucket. When they bring gravel, unless you just want a pile, have them set their chains on the tailgate and spread it as they dump.

Great job on the road! It is tricky to get it smooth enough for light vehicles with such a large dozer and rock. Once you have it graded out you can track pack the rock down by tracking over it a bunch, it’ll help break up the bigger rock and pack it all together. Once you have finer material you can back-blade it and it should leave a smoother finish. You may already know this just some tips from a pipeliner. Keep up the good work!

hello from the Netherlands . in the video I saw when you were working on the operating handle that there was still threading past the nut, to prevent it from vibrating loose again and possibly losing the bolt and nut you can drill a hole with a very small drill to put a locking wire by doing so so that the nut can no longer vibrate off, so you do not have to keep tinkering with the dozer which takes a lot of time of course and also frustration. thanks for another video. I like to keep watching your videos to see what challenge you are up to now. Sincerely, Hollandduck

Seeing the scale of land resource you have, you could make some fast and easy money/trade, by classifying that material into rock, sand and gravel. A grizzly and a front end loader are all you need. Nice to see put the effort and thought into the drainage of the new road. The output of culverts make for great catchments downstream. In Arizona we dig "tanakos" Tanks. Just a deep hole either in a flow one or off the side of a river. These can be lined or used for an actual tank.

Seeing your rocks makes me appreciate the hole I dug BY HAND in about 5 hours, 5.5' wide by 9' long and 3.5' deep. NO ROCKS is the key! I tried to not think about how I sold my Kubota mini excavator last year, thinking I was done with earth moving projects! It would have taken 15 minutes or less with it. My first piece of ground, just 1 mile away, was so rocky I couldn't figure out how I didn't make any progress by picking them up, until after about 15 years, then I realized for every rock I picked up, there were two underneath. So hand digging this spring box hole was relatively painless.

If your 1:52 clinometer ever breaks, you can do the same thing with $10 of irrigation supplies. Attach some clear tubing to each end of 100' x 1/4" hose, hold up the ends, fill with water, when it levels, measure the height of the water from the road, the difference is your grade! Happy leveling!

Nice job. You two are turning some seriously skilled machine operators. It wont be long before the cement lorry can get in a poor. While you have to dozer can I suggest that you invest some time to doze a 40 foot clear cut path around all of your boundary to act as a fire break, just in case. That dozer along with the excavator stacking the logs would make short work of the task and you would have your wood pile for next year already safely drying. Just a thought. Thanks for posting.

It is nice to have an 8 for pioneering in roads. I have owned two of them and I even had a 9. The moving of large equipment is extremely troublesome and expensive. I could move my 8’s around the area that I was working with just one pilot car. The 6’s could be moved with just the lowboy. I think that you are doing a good job with what you have. I would have hired you. Getting quick with equipment translates to making fewer passes. This will come in time. Keep it up, I truly enjoy watching your videos. Best Regards Your Pal Al

Nice to see you guys making real progress on the road. You should consider making some level pads on your property while you still own the dozer, it would add quite a bit of value to your land.

You had the right size dozer with exactly the right blade for the job. Somebody spent a lot of time on all those hard facing beads that will help extend its life. I've spent some time in the seat of a D9H and a few others. You're right, you can't see anything in front of the big dozers - all I could see was the lower outside bottom corners of the blade. The one I drove, which spent most of it's live in an open pit coal mine, made enough black smoke to hide a column of destroyers when I let off the decelerator pedal. Your machine is a more practical size but big enough to take on the rocks. Good choice. Well done.

You are two of the gutsiest kids I have ever watched. I mean no disrespect when I call you "kids". I'm 71. I have nothing but respect for what you are doing and what you have accomplished. All I can say is "God help anyone who gets in your way". I look forward to each new vid to see what you are doing. I am amazed! Thank you and keep the vids coming.
