That little grader combo is the ticket for this type of job. Having the gopro in the cab was great in the fact. You could hear you perfectly clear and see just what you see . I wonder how well the grader would do grading the sides of a pond?👍👍👍💯🇺🇸

I’ll say this to other KZfaqrs that I watch so I’m copying and pasting. I was kinda concerned that there weren’t going to be new videos while I’m still here at the hospital. The combination gutter and French drain may be sufficient, but most storage units I’ve rented over the years also pitch the driveway to the center with a drain line down the center of the driveway with periodic storm drain grates. I wonder if the drainage you are building will handle the kind of extreme storm that is becoming more common with 10+ inches of rain in a few hours. Maybe nothing could be built to accommodate that much water, but I was always glad to see the pitch away from the entry door and when given the choice of units, always took one built that way.

That's it, Chris is hooked on this Swill knife of a machine ! Perfect for that kind of work. Fast, versatile, seems a decent grader. Yep, that marketing manager knew what he was doing when he asked Chris for a test run ! Now, will Uncle John approve ?? To me, that thing is a money maker !

About the only drawback to that loader grader that I see is that it has a single arm supporting the bucket. Seems as if there is a lot of play. Long term could cause excessive cost to repair. Of course that's my 2 cents. Other than that. Great work as always Chris!!
@r1mein542 жыл бұрын
My guess of having 3 people on this job is to get done quicker and reduce blockage time to the storage units. I bet Uncle John likes having extra help. That IS a LOT of drain pipe. That hybrid telehandler grader is just the machine to smooth those lanes on that site.

It’s looking good! Nice (and not$$$) that the owner is able to have you guys do the drains at the beginning of the job with the 2 new buildings. He is so far ahead of the game the one building is not quite done yet!! Haha. A project this size, appears to show that no one can fully predict what water will do over such a large area. Especially when sooo much grade was cut out from one location and moved to another. Also changing compaction doesn’t help. Considering the amount of rain you get down there and how fast it comes, you and the builder have done a pretty decent job learning and dealing with the nuances. Damn water,,,,, it will do the damndest things and where you least expect it to! I lived in a valley between a mountain and a mountain sized foothill most my life. We were always dealing with water and if we had really heavy snows, just went with what happens. Even after decades there, you would think everything is “in control”,,,,, hahaha. Nope, never in total control of water!! Most years are fine, then you get a record snow pack, 2 feet deeper over allll of that area and you know it’s coming right at you!! Haha. It was a homestead that then grew into a ranch and feedlot. The newest construction was built out of the way, but then there were underground springs,,,,,,,,. Aaauugghhhh water!!
@mula26262 жыл бұрын
The water is what created the valley. It’s not going anywhere anytime soon.

My first thought, if I was going to rent one of these storage units, is to see if they paved the floor, on the inside of individual units. The way they built these units, I'd expect to see gravel on the floor, if I opened up one of these units. (g)

Never operated a grader in my life, but I think it'd be easier to have all the blade controls on one joystick like this mutant grader compared to the other grader where every function has its own valve and lever. How is the little mutant working out now that you had a chance to bring it onto a paying job? And I'd love to know what John thinks of it, lol.

Hi Chris! This little grader looks like it is the perfect size for the type of work you do! A 4 in 1 machine, with 4 wheel steering and Hydra-static steering,..... pretty awesome! I checked the price, and the price (YIKES)!! The manufacture is plenty proud of this machine! Do you use fat-alice much?? Maybe you could trade her in on this one?? If I was going to change anything, I would weld a 6 inch plate on top of the blade. That would keep gravel, etc. off the sliding hydralic cyl. Love the videos, and your commentary! Best Wishes And GOD BLESS! Gary
