It's on! The Green Hornet is back and finally snorting a small dose of nitrous oxide. Will it destroy the previous best ET of 19 seconds? Will it explode in a glorious ball of fire, finally put out of its misery? We do our best to find out while giving you cool tips on direct port nitrous system installation, distributor recurving, programmable ignition how-tos, and having a damn good time doing it. Daniel Boshears and Jacob davis are back in the garage to make it all happen before Jacob heads off to Los Angeles for his new life. I'm not sure if the Hornet' will be back again so enjoy this final installment of our favorite project car.

BTW, One added benefit of watching one of your vids seems to be resetting my youtube recommendations. I watch one baby ferret vid, and all I get for days are kittens n Weasels. One Finnegan vid and I'm back to barn finds, engine rebuilds, and the occasional "Hot Girl Fails" vids....

Well over half of Finnegan's subs watched his latest video within 2 days, and less then 1% of MT's subs watched their latest 30 sec clip. And less then 30% of MT's subs watched the latest Roadkill and thats been out almost a month.

Cool process. It brings back memories of the first engine I built. A Chevy six, forged pistons, cam, 4bbl (Holley 8007) and headers/glass packs in a '69 Camaro. I drove that car from my senior year of High School until I finished college.

so,... I was born in 1975. I've never in my 40+ years thought it possible that I'd be interested in the mechanical progress of a Hornet, much less actually voluntarily watch one drag race. Ever. so well done there! Also, the Clark Griswald/ Family Truckster references from the tower were hilarious. My grandfather, Floyd Kishline, was Chief Engineer and designed that engine for AMC as well as another fairly reliable engine for the JEEP in 1938. His stories get better the deeper you go.

I use to have a 1980 AMC Wagon. They called those Concords back in the days. Has this same motor in it....in line 6. We use to call it the Super Wagon! Carried 10 people in it once. lol Awesome video guys! Takes me back to the days where I almost suped up my 258 like this.

Always enjoy your videos. Hi from The Netherlands! oh and I think the reason your nr1 cyl is lean is still that great big vacuum leak caused by plumbing the breather direct to the manifold. That should go to somewhere before the throttle valve.

My CB handle in college was the "Green Hornet"...had a 1973 Hornet Station Wagon...same green as yours...what a rust bucket of a uni-body, but it got me where I needed to go.

If it can still cruise down the freeway or slowly downtown and not overheat, and gets at least 10mpg (probably higher) when not standing on it, it is a winner to me. Heck, for every MPG it gets over 10, add stars to that win.

I had literally the same problem on my 302 72 bronco. Mixture screws in all the way, and its rich. That gasket in the power valve is really important ;)

the 454 has almost as much potential for less money and time invested and is easier to work on. you put half the money of a Duramax swap in the stock 454 and you will have one hell of a motor. plus a built big block Chevy with a big cam sounds way better in my opinion.

The Weapon Collection it's nearly been done. 87 octane 590 HP 468 11 mpg towing. 12-13 no trailer. our Duramax kicks it's ass in milage and low end, off-idle torque, but from 1500 rpm on up, it boogies.

my 99 buick century NEEDS some fog juice........ my dream is to turn a buick century (3.1 160hp v6) into a buick regal gran sport (3.8 ~300hp SUPERCHARGED v6) its a fairly easy swap.....and then fog it! something about a fast buick man....would love to smoke all these de-tuned to "roll coal" trucks around this part of montana.... would really piss some people off about how their penis compensation got beat by a grandmother car....

Martin Ramirez ya...im not too much of a fan of the 90 degree 3.8.....well, just biased on sounds The 3.8 is a great motor......just has a supercharger like whine to it due to the balance shaft spinning at 2x engine The 60 degree 3.1, while having a big bark, and a small bite....sounds so fucking good Thing growls......

I had a mustang 11 with the 2.3 lima engine head was milled for around 10 to 1 compression, offenhauser four barrel duel port intake with a holley 390, crane cam with 260 duration solid lifters .500 lift, and hooker headers, stock bottom end, it made a hell of alot of power over the stock 85 HP, busted the rear end gears, but it was fun passing the ricers at the local drag strip.

I love this series! My first car was a 72 Hornet Sportabout with the 232 CI straight-6. Mine was the ugliest turquoise blue ever know to man. I still have the original owner's manual but the car is long gone. Didn't think there were any left in existence.

How to sciphen gas? Dappen a shop rag. Wrap around hose. Push against fuel port conected to gas tank huf and puff into hose to presurize the tank. Put hose into gas can. Presure will push gas through the hose to can. Ie blow dont suck. Btw nice work. Amcs i have had. 66 rambler american 232 2 brl 65 rambler marlin 327 4 brl. 68 rebel sst 343 4brl. Happy hornet. The brass juggler end goes into the tank you are emptying. It acts as a check valve to stop the air syphoning back to the tank you are emptying.

Hook a "Y" connection to your siphon hose on the top part of the "Y". Now get the hose from air compressor and hook it up on the top part beside the siphon on top of the "Y" Blow compressed air in the "Y" and it will drag out the fuel and you can talk about collectors on a header as a bonus. My stepfather did the same thing but held the end of the hose and air nozzle in his closed fist andblew the air past the end of the hose to create a vacuum and eventually drawing out fuel.
