I'm very happy to see that there are many metal bands which sing in their mother language. If all bands sung in English, that would be monotonous and btw German suits very much for metal.
@kaka1231503 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it's really fun to hear some real expression in music, when german sings in german, pole sings in polish, russian sings in russian, hungarian sings in hungarian... I was very impressed when i first time listened to some eastern block metal music such as Ossian, Pokolgep, Kat ("polish metallica"), Aria ("russian iron maiden"), Chorniy Kofe and so on

+that youtube channel I agree completely. I'm live in Alabama, and our metal scene is dying as far as bands go. It does make me glad to see that European bands such as Nightwish, Delain, Sonata Arctica, Tyr, Rammstein, etc. have a huge following here(me included). Metal is slowly but surely growing. People are getting tired of the mainstream garbage being pushed by radio stations and MTV.

Probably one of my favorites bands ever, without a doubt in my mind. Mixing black metal with folk music has been done many times by other bands, but Finsterforst clearly does it the best in my mind. Alternating between moods, screams and clean singing, and even ACCORDION solos. It's a band that needs a lot more recognition than it has right now for sure. Good job, and I will be looking forward to future albums if you intend to release more, which I hope you do!

Neeboh they've always known it. I just think Ramstein always overshadowed everything. There's a whole continent worth of metal bands that never get heard of from Europe. It's only by following some of the links on here that I've found them in the last few months and it feels like I've been missing out for decades. Bands like Jinjer(Ukraine), any given day(german) these guys(german again lol) but then having two young kids and a wife that hates metal does that to your music radar

Free yourself from your shackles Free until death! Finally, break your chains Step into the light out of the shadows - free yourself! You know I'm from America and I do have to say that Europe know their metal. Sweden, Norway, Finland, The Netherlands, and Germany. The American music I think concentrate on speed and moshing, whereas European's focus on rhythm and Melody and that's why I think the European's make the best metal in the world.
@MetalJody19905 жыл бұрын
I agree. The best metal absolutely comes from Europe. It's so different from what we have in America. Nice to find an American who feels the same way. The music I write takes a lot of inspiration from European metal. More rhythm & melody, less speed & moshing.

MjmanDK He probably means their latest album. Now, I personally don't mind that one, but isn't exactly my most favorite one of them. Then again, there are always these "back in the days, they were better!" about pretty much every evolving band ever. I even read a few comments about that in these comments about Finsterforst.
@MjmanDK9 жыл бұрын
Selbi Inkille Yeah that is true.. I've seen some of those Old Finsterforst = Best Finsterforst comments before haha. But seriously.. Varjoina kuljemme kuolleiden maassa from 2011 is a fucking fantastic album by Moonsorrow! Kuolleiden maa, Huuto and Muinaiset are some insanely good songs. Sure Huuto might be a bit "girlish?" but Kuolleiden maa is a black metal masterpiece!
@selbi1829 жыл бұрын
MjmanDK Hävitetty all the way. Say what you want, but nothing beats longtracks, especially if it's by one of the greatest Pagan Metal bands in existence. That's also the very reason why I love Finsterforst: Not only are they German (like me, so I can actually understand their texts), they also focus mostly on super long-ass songs. I'm waiting for the day where they have an epic longer than Hävitetty's Jäästä Syntynyt Varjojen Virta with its 30:10 duration...
