Jumping on the bandwagon and sharing fire alarm test and inspections.
This is a local high school with a Simplex 4005 Panel and a NAC extender whose manufacture escapes me at the moment; 229 Smokes, 22 Pulls, 20 Heats, 23 (!) Duct Detectors. 46 A/Vs, 14 Strobes, 30+ Door Holders and several fan shutdowns.
No idea of model numbers of any of the devices - not something I really care about unless they break. It's all Simplex except for one System Sensor A/V we used to replace a bad horn and the upgraded Edwards stuff in the Auditorium.
Couple of the A/Vs are on their way out but smacking them seems to help.
For some inexplicable reason it trips a Silent Knight 5207 which is used as the dialer...my theory is that the original Standard Electric system had a leased line dialer direct to the local PSAP which they stopped using and added the 5207 to use the PSTN instead. Why Simplex didn't off it and add a dialer module to their fancy panel I don't know - as all it trips into us is "Fire Alarm" or "Trouble"...no other info.
One day I'll get into it and maybe do some reprogramming....after climbing into 10 different penthouses to test duct detectors and walking the whole school countless times I'd had enough for the day. Also on the list is reprogramming it for temporal code but that's another can of worms since the auditorium bells do it internally and I'd have to isolate them on a continuous loop or see if they can be set to continuous...blah blah blah boring techno-babble lol.
I did my best to conceal the identity of the high school for numerous reasons, if you recognize it please keep it to yourself.
