The wires have resistance.what about initiating device or indicator devices.don t have resistance.why in calculation we ignore resistance of devices

It can, the logic of calculating the voltage drop for detector will be the same principle as what is discussed in the video. You just have to know the total current first based on the quantity of your load, which in your case your detector and now the resistance of your wire from point to point until you calculated the drop until last. By comparing the voltage from last with the operating voltage of your device, you can definitely say if it is ok.

What distance should we use, the distance between devices or twice the distance between devices? I've seen some sample calculations using the twice the distance between devices? Hope to hear from you soon. Thank you.
@AllaboutFireProtection
@AllaboutFireProtection 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, doubling distance if we use a single core wire while in the example we use already the cable resistance(ohms/km of cable(2 core) x length).

Hi, D is just the label for our horn strobe in the example. D2 is also one unit of horn strobe. It is the same label we used in the cad drawing as example.

Why do we calculate the voltage drop according to the distance between each device?. Can't we calculate the voltage drop from the farthest device to the fire alarm control panel?
@AllaboutFireProtection
@AllaboutFireProtection 2 жыл бұрын
You can do it Halil, as long as you account the total current of NAC devices & total resistance of your cable you'll get your voltage drop. However, the proper way to do it and show how much voltage are dropping for each NAC device as it travels to the last device are from the table that I shown in our presentation. Thank you again for watching.

Thanx for your video, from where you get the current of the first device =0.182 A.??
@AllaboutFireProtection
@AllaboutFireProtection 3 жыл бұрын
It is from the total current of our notification device based on data sheet which is in our example we used horn strobe. We added both the current from horn (0.122A) considering high output plus the current of strobe (0.060A) when 15 candela setting is used. You'll get 0.182. Thanks for watching our videos.

I am entering charger voltage on a pyrotronics SXL-EX panel..I am only getting 9.7 volts.....is that correct?

You may want to re-check the measurement by removing first one terminal from the battery and measure the voltage to the charger circuit. If it still lower than 12V, then you possibly have issue with supply of voltage going to your charging circuit. Check the installation manual of that FACP and look for the charger circuit voltage.

Sir, hingi lng ako overview. Yung NFPA 72 and its referral code (NFPA 70), required ba talaga na fire rated yung wire? Example scenario for a high rise building with assembly and hotel occupancy. Yung system ay may wiring na SLC - class A, IDC - class B, NAC - class B, and 24V power supply). Or meron bang certain condition na kelangan ma-meet para permitted kang gumamit ng hindi fire rated na wire?
@AllaboutFireProtection
@AllaboutFireProtection 3 жыл бұрын
Hello, kung susundan nating yung requirement from NFPA 70 for type of cable to be used for fire alarm, required na listed for fire alarm use and may resistance sa spread of fire. Pero, bago tayo magcomply sa anumang standards na gagamitin ntin, lagi ntin i-check yung ano ba yung mandated na code sa kung anong location or bansa mo i-apply yung requirement. Like dito sa pinas, check BFP Fire code requirement or if my project specs, need ntin macomply. Otherwise, kung sinabi na installation shall be installed in accordance to NFPA 72/70, then ingat tayo sa ggamitin cable and this should be verified with the project.

Hello Jamir, thank you sa comment mo.

@@ramezzaki6365 Hi ramez. Jamir was asking in his comment if we still need to provide voltage drop calculation if let's say we used a big size of cable in our notification circuit or sounder circuit. The answer is yes, even if it is obvious that the voltage drop will be minimal because of the size of cable. It is one of the requirement in NFPA 72 in clause 7.2.1(8) 2016 edition for fire alarm documentation to provide voltage drop calculation.
