My 2003 carb model has twin Beowulf cans with baffles removed.... Pops like a bugger just like this one. Is that normal?

+andycush1 Mine has 4-1 , has a slight popping. I thought this sound was because running lean, but mine is re-jetted and no air leaks..... any thoughts?

very normal. just a carbed engine for you!

Try bigger jets, popping on overrun is mostly caused by a lean mixture, or could be stretched inlet valves, possibly timing a tooth out.

I had one they could easily out muscle a Porsche turbo 2.8 seconds 0 to 60 isn’t under powered I loved mine unfortunately it met a sad ending when I was knocked off of it, I’m actually selling my VN 900 to get another one this summer

I wondered that ! I have just had my 2003 Dyno tested, with 36y rubbers, free flo air filter and stainless Black widow exhaust system. Got 106 bhp at the rear wheel and 91 Ft/lb of torque. Thought that was ok for bolt on bits. Up about 15 bhp at the crank and up 20 FT/lb of torque.

You will never get that bike.. the 2015 model is completely different, and imo looks like shit.

ukspizzaman agreed, I like the look of the earlier ones. (like in this vid). The new ones look retro, but it's like they are trying hard to be retro looking if that makes sense. Which obviously just makes it look 'meh'
