Hey I know Mike Sorace. He's an instructor at Somerset Emergency Services Training Academy and a Captain with Newark fire. I had him for a few classes in Fire 1. Great guy!

Work smarter not harder....it's the first thing I was told when I came on 19 years ago. This info is helpful to save your body and save you on the SCBA.

8:44 Also, you want to avoid scattering stuff all over because you might end up stepping on fasteners (nails, screws). Depending on how tough your boots are, it might go straight through and into your foot. It's not likely to happen, but it can and does happen on rare occasions. Not fun though ... Be careful using doors to cover holes though, because many doors (especially, but not limited to, modern ones) aren't going to support your weight. I suppose if anything, it's just used as a marker to prevent someone from stepping in that area. Then again, it might cause problems when someone goes to pick it up and doesn't look underneath before moving it away!!!
