Nahhh Timerra on Picket is nuts. Sigurd ring w/ build +4 or 5 and a brave lance. Since she’s fast she gets so many quads and that almost guarantees a sandstorm activation, which can do almost 4-5x damage bc her defense is so high.

Ive been around since less than 500 subscribers. This channel has been the best on youtube when it comes to FE coverage and the personality that comes with it is top tier as well. Another great video.

It's kind of amazing to see such clear divisions in opinion struck along such consistent lines; some people find the 'dex% chance' effects as immediate dealkillers which don't offer enough to matter, others see half of them as hard carries so long as you build them correctly. Both on the same difficulty.

I originally thought the sub-classes could be combined on certain class promotions; for example, a great knight would be cavalry but also a an armor type, so immune to broken status. I think that would have been a nice way to spice up some of the less popular classes.

Vidame is really good, I'm the type of person who really likes to mix it up with classes in the games where it's an option but I cannot bring myself to put Celine in anything else

The niche use for reforge is using fracture on units next to mauvier for free damage against him in chapter 19

Two comments dude - 1. Don’t sleep on Timerra and picket. With her speed, she tends to have high crit so on a pair of attacks she is going to either crit or proc sandstorm in the same fashion that Alcryst does with his class. 2. What are you doing with Celine? Her damage tends to drop off hard for me mid-to-late game.

Cant stand for Timerra slander, Brave Lance + Eirika + high dex and def means she one rounds everything. Sigurd also works with her extremely well, override even triggers sandstorm. She comes with not terrible not great stats and needs some babying at first but she becomes a total monster. She one rounds Sombron 100-0 literally with a dancer + byleth dancing her even through his barrier as long as you kill the bottom 2. Ivy's class is also great just for being a flying mage with fixable speed, she kinda needs Lyn at first but can work without her after she gets speed. Alcryst is on a similar boat to Timerra but his Luna doesnt seem to deal as much damage as Sandstorm. Diamant however, 22 dex cap means Sol is forever unreliable and he has shaky hit rates with axes even with his personal, I changed his class so fast and he was good as wyvern knight. Wolf Knight is a good class to end up as but never ever never level up Merrin in that class unless you plan to give her every energy drop.

I agree with the list for the most part. The one caveat is that I think Picket is also a tip tier class. When thinking of Timerra, I see her almost as a melee Alcryst. They both have the combination of an insanely strong personal skill, paired with a high dex stat to be able to proc it consistently. Alcryst definitely still comes out on top since he joins earlier, and is easier to use immediately due to being ranged. But Sandstorm easily sets Picket apart from the rest of the Pretty Good tier, considering that Timerra actually can proc it very consistently with minimal investment.

I found Wolf Knight + Dual Assist (+)/ Dual Strike is pretty good: chain attacks and you can easily get your foes poisoned so that the following attacks deal even more damage

I think I can agree on most of them. My only issue is your placement of Martial Master. I get what you were saying but I think you forgot about Chain Guard completely and that maybe influenced that decision to put it so low. If not the case, then I am a bit unsure about that placing. I personally think Chain Guard is an incredibly helpful defensive skill that can save you in a lot of moments. Otherwise, great video. Love watching these. Some points: -Base classes are more relevant than you think. You can technically second seal at base level even if Jean and Anna are the only units you'd want to do that for. -Dragon typing shouldn't be valued so highly on the tierlist since Alear is the only unit that can be in those classes, and Alear is always a dragon no matter what class you put them in if I recall correctly. -Definitely agree on the value of Covert, but the bow classes would benefit from being backup instead of covert for the longbow build. Instead Warriors of all things can run Windgod and longbow for 2-4 range backups. -Timerra's class needs up. I have not even gotten her yet and I've already heard the Sandstorm build (Feed her Defense Stat boosters which I doubt other units will really want and give her a Brave lance). Also the Dex% skill activation was a problem on that class more than others for some reason. -I thought Beserker was the main class for a crit build with the Ike ring but I may be mistaken. -I think Lances are getting unfair treatment here. Stat wise I've found Axes way more cumbersome in terms of getting reliable hit rates and not getting doubled. Swords are good mostly because Levin Sword exists but units that can double with Lances have no reason for swords imo. Also Idk about the Levin Sword over tome take. It lets you break Axes, but idk about running that over a Dire Thunder build. Also availability is a concern for a weapon like Levin Sword. How many can you get and forge? -Finally, Class growths weren't discussed much. Did they factor in at all? I'm assuming not since getting extra strength is a main reason to go Wyvern.

Martial master is one of my favorites. The issue is the lack of a weapon that does damage (effective at least) / range. However, player phase damamge attack 4x can instant kill most non-armored units. The shield arts + dodge tank if you build the unit correctly and you have a fairly solid tank who can heal and use the guard move. Having the +5 defense arts and doing 20 damage 4 times is just so good. I feel like the class design works but needs improvement. The direction is great. Usually the only good dodge tanks are the avatar character but having the martial master be able to be a consistent dodge tank is so great. They feel like how I would use Pegasus knights in prior installments. I haven't even tried using units that have ungodly defense in the class but wonder how it would work. A healer tank is just so cool.

Picket is Top Tier, Sandstorm gives you free damage and Timerra, while I don't like her, has a 45 Dex growth.

Came here after your comment on the new Link/Choops video to see if I missed something on your channel about Céline and it certainly looks like I did. The community is really sleeping on her usefulness. There’s the 3 weapon types. She’s 2 mages in 1 and stays mystical when a lot of people have Ivy and Hortensia as their other magic units. (That’s what I did my first run, but I think I’ll have a higher quantity of mages next time) That means she can take advantage of Sigurd override with levin sword with the extra mystical damage or use thyrsus with Byleth. So many options. She can still deal magic damage with levin sword if she gets silenced

Gunna Say Alear on berserker is pretty powerful. She's got great growths in all the classes weaknesses. Plus the drip on Alear is so good. I'm doing a no flyer run for my first playthrough (also maddening classic) and I put Ivy on Mage Knight with the Levin sword. Seems pretty good so far.

I can hear your bias for different units/characters, but I don't think you ever let that put a class into a tier it doesn't belong in. I thought Timerra was bad at first from looking at her stats, but I found Sandstorm to be at the level of Luna if not better.

It's not mean FED, I'm so mad at Alfred because of all the investment I put into him through the entirety of my first playthrough for him give absolutely no returns.

Martial Master is definitely niche but my Jean was able to double armoured units with high 20s/low 30s damage and a high enough hit rate to kill them in the first round of combat so I hold the class in higher regard to most I also made Anna a warrior and she was amazing, slaughtered everything with axes, barely needed a radiant bow for armours

Picket is S-tier IMO because of Sandstorm. I initially slept on Picket because lances are very forgettable, especially when Chloe is arguably the strongest lance-user in the game and a flier, but Timerra can tank and carry most maps once she gains this ability. Also, Picket is hands down better than Halberdier because it doesn't require positioning (Pincer) to be strong.

I also like self healing because you don't have to carry a vuln and can carry another staff without worry

The amount of times luna and sandstorm have saved me from a unit potentially dying is too high to count

Picket (and Timerra) is S-tier because of Sandstorm. Give Timerra a Brave Lance and Sigurd (who grants buffs to Dex, Def, and Bld - all of which feed into what Picket wants to do), and watch her destroy everything with quadding enemies and consistent Sandstorms.

My Celine turned out to be pretty horrible with fixed growths, even though she was using a +5 Levin Sword. She must be way better with random growths.

I get a lot of your placements. I think the usefulness of a class if determined in part by the skill they learned at level 5, and is also determined by how well a class accentuates a units main role/roles in your army. I dont think flyers are as good as they were in fe3h , due to only having one more movement than infantry, the abundance of impassable tiles, the sheer amount of units and units with anti flyer weapons. You cant dive into enemy lines, unless it is the last or one of the last enemies in a group. The amount of 3 range options also give units the same coverage as a flyer. While you cant move as far, infantry are less likely to over exend, making them a safer option as well as flyers having too many ways to deal effective damage and typically having lower Res and Def. I am not saying to never run flyers or cavs, just that optimally you only really need 1 of each, maybe 2 depending on the map. I dont see how flyers can be as consistent, especially on enemy phasein a flat out normal engagement without terrain tricks , outside of the movement utility, and tile abuse. I have run a heavy flyers team and a no flyers team,and the no flyers team typically was more consistent with less time crystal units. Also Wolf Knight Amber was one of my heaviest hitting knife users. Hobble never did anythibg because he hanked everytime, lol

I've had fantastic experiences with Great Knight so far. The mobility of a cav with the tankiness of an armor complemented with access to 2/3 of the weapon triangle. You really don't get broken often when you can pick between 2 weapon choices (Fracture staff doesn't count). Missing on Entrap is a shame but other than that Sage is just a stronger High Priest. Honestly because of Mystical and staff access I like it more than Mage Knight too.

Fell Child is a Dragon type which means it can take full advantage of Emblems’ bonuses (i.e. Corrin), plus access to knives is always good. The only downside I can see really is you don’t get access to it until the end of the game and Veyle, the only one who can use it, doesn’t have amazing stats. I would probably rank it higher than you did, not top tier but the middle of the Pretty Good tier

See I think of the fighter classes axe is the best because it’s got physical 1-2 range so you can set up for chain attack kills/damage easily without giving your levin sword to a (most likely unless you’re truly meme pilled with Anna) physical unit.

Great Knight is like, straight up better than general. General is only barely more bulky (especially with allied defense) but GK has good movement and not so terrible speed, being broken is just not such a big deal to make up for the 2 less movement. I would also argue that warrior deserves to be higher because it kinda just turns any bad unit into a decent one. Great growth rates, only backup class with 3 range, +50% damage to broken enemies and access to bows for fliers effectiveness. But it still ain't insane like griffin so is kinda whatever

Vidame is a godlike class on paper but I think Celine's very mixed jack-of-all-trades-master-of-none stats bring it down.

Paladin might be boring but it has good physical growths across the board and S rank weapon access It’s probably at least pretty good even if it’s boring, most class skills are lame anyway Dancer can’t be the best in the game because it can’t win by itself, therefore you are correct about Vidame

Have to disagree with you on Swordmaster. This class has always been my favorite in Fire Emblem Games, and it does not disappoint in Engage. High Speed and , High Crit Rate means that you will be dodging attacks frequently, doubling frequently, and Criting almost every other turn (when equipped with a High Crit Weapon) . (It is worth noting that I play on Normal, which probably means that Swordmaster is a lot better than on higher difficulties. )

I don't think I understand Vidame's placement. Staff access is great, Ignis is cool, and having swords and tomes is really good, but Céline's offensive stats are... pretty unfortunate, I would say. Like if she attacks with a Levin Sword and procs Ignis, she's going to do about as much damage as a Mage Knight would *without* a special skill, right?

If only you could canter after positioning skills like if you could go 6 move pivot another 2 move and then canter+ 3 move that's 11 spaces which is kinda nutty. Or if you could action after pivoting cuz honestly you kinda just pivot...and then nothing no benefit unlike being able to help an ally with the other movement skills, alas it is kinda dogshit

I would absolutely call berserker bad. Panette is better in so many other classes. And paladin is boring, but it's really good. Fantastic growths across the board, good bases, and potential for S rank weapons.

You mentioned that Griffon is strictly better than Wyvern -- why? I like having access to two weapons and a bit more bulk. Do you think that Kagetsu would always be better in Griffon?

I personally think Alear's Dragon child class is garbage. I made mine a sword master and she did exactly what you expect them to do. A crit beast dodge tank, almost nothing hits her.

Don't see how hero is so good when halberdier has a stronger brave assist that will always activate when behind the opponent and uses a much better weapon being lances since swords still suck. Also how is wyvern knight not S tier? Wyvern knight on a unit already decently fast can make them more tanky plus you get one secondary b rank weapon and get all the advantages of being a flier. Picket has the best proc in the game so that should also be s tier especially since picket has good dex growth and timerra as a unit has 45% dex growth already. I actually find succcesseur awful due to its low dex growth same with diamant and his personal low dex growth. You never proc sol for the most part. And there is no way general is good imo when they get shredded by magic so most tanks overall aren't good in this game with either their low mobility and also heavy weakness to magic while not being able to shred enemy units and bosses themselves or just not being able to set up chokepoints efficiently although if i was forced to use a tank i would rather have a great knight than anything else from the options provided. Aside from this i think the list is solid.

Kagetsu as bow knight is pretty insane. He retains his ability to dodge tank and has basically the same growths as swordmaster, but picks up bows. It's like warrior but for swords.

I think if you are going to make an entire tier for base classes and put every single one in there you should have just taken them out of the video

Lyndwurm and Picket are clearly S Tier. You must not have gotten Timerra's dex high enough to exploit sandstorm. "Sleipnir and Lyndwurm are basically the same." 😂😂😂 And the fact that you have general in pretty good is kind of a meme. Once their defense reaches a certain point the enemies are just going to ignore them. Picket is like a faster and more mobile general. "Wyvern knight is niche." It's only one of the best classes in the game...🙃 I definitely like your three houses videos better...🙄

HARD disagree on Lindwurm. It's Ivy's best class by absolute far.. It has the highest mage class stat, the highest mage class growth and flier mobility. It's basically Wyvern Knight for mages.
