Skits & Schist No. Laslow entered a sparring match against Xander to prove him his worth. While Xander outpowered him, Xander also underestimated him and almost lost. Because of that, Xander actually asked if Laslow could become his retainer. About the comment on Laslow's skill resembling Xander's, I guess that was just a mistake by the writers. That, or maybe Laslow learned some things from Xander and mixed them in with his own skills, but it doesn't say that anywhere if I'm correct.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Peri and Inigo picked up some skills from Xander.
