This is just sad that these firefighters are down a fire truck but just glad that they weren't hurt in this crash

Was there no police on the scene? Seems kind of weird that a semi got away if there was police on scene.

No one could have chased this truck down? Where were the state patrol. Great discription of the semi truck there Mrs Detectives. That narrows it down to only 450,000 trucks.

Don’t a lot of fire dept especially big ones get dash cams for every rig/ apperatus? My small volunteer dept out of pa does an they record 24/7 even when parked incase someone comes an tampers with something on the rigs

Plot twist the firefighter hit a fixed object and the cover up is blame a truck driver.

Massachusetts has an ongoing issue with rogue operators driving through the state at night to avoid weigh stations which are usually closed at night resulting in occasional accidents..

Any estimate on the damage? Can it be repaired locally and put back into service?,

I hope insurance will fully reimburse them with a new engine.

Truckers think they own the highways. There’s no way in hell the trucker didn’t know he hit that apparatus. Then, he fled the scene like a coward. Unbelievable.

Remember that, while a driver is required to "reduce the speed of the vehicle to that of a reasonable and safe speed for road conditions" when approaching a stopped emergency/highway/tow vehicle, they are only required to move over from the near lane if they can do so safely -- "[I]f changing lanes is impracticable, proceed with due caution and reduce the speed of the vehicle to that of a reasonable and safe speed for road conditions." So don't assume you MUST move over then end up cutting drivers off when changing lanes... or end up stopping in the near lane to wait for room to change lanes -- the safest (and legal) option in these circumstances is to go ahead and pass in the near lane without moving over but do so at a safe, reduced speed. [Massachusetts Law Chapter 89 Section 7C ] Be safe! While the "Move Over" law may have played a part in the collision with the fire engine, there was definitely at least one other issue at play. Either the fire engine was at least partially in the lane of travel of the semi truck, which meant that that lane was no longer available and the semi truck had NO right being in that lane (the semi truck would've had to exit that closed lane, THEN the "Move Over" law would've kicked in and the semi truck would've then needed to slow down and either move over yet ANOTHER lane to allow for an entire empty lane between it and the emergency vehicle... or pass in the near lane at a reduced speed if unable to safely move over); OR the semi truck veered from its lane of travel into the fire engine (the semi truck may have even been in that near lane legally if they couldn't safely move over, but they may have left their lane of travel and struck the fire engine).

I’ve seen how some firefighter’s drive they have no room to talk.

So with all the “heroes” on scene, no one saw the truck or got a license plate number? So proud of how our tax dollars are spent.

Get off your butts and find the trucker. You got a smashed up cab, how hard can it be. Get to work, Chief Sellout! Leave the public out of this. DO YOUR JOB.
