Athens Fire 3 August 2021, Part B - Water Refilling/Abstraction by several aircraft and helicopters.
Locations of refilling were Lake Marathon and Nea Makri beach.

Την Τρίτη 3 Αυγούστου 2021, στο πλαίσιο της κοινωνικής της προσφοράς, η Πολεμική Αεροπορία διέθεσε τα παρακάτω μέσα:
Για Αεροπυρόσβεση,
Δύο (2) CL-415 εκτέλεσαν αποστολές αεροπυρόσβεσης στη Ρόδο.
Ένα (1) CL-415 εκτέλεσε αποστολή αεροπυρόσβεσης στον Πεντάλοφο Κοζάνης.
Ένα (1) CL-415 εκτέλεσε αποστολή αεροπυρόσβεσης στη Δεσκάτη Γρεβενών.
Δύο (2) CL-215 εκτέλεσαν αποστολή αεροπυρόσβεσης στη Στυλίδα.
Τρία (3) CL-215 εκτέλεσαν αποστολή αεροπυρόσβεσης στη Βαρυμπόμπη.
Δύο (2) CL-215 εκτέλεσαν αποστολή αεροπυρόσβεσης στο Γύθειο.
Τρία (3) PZL εκτέλεσαν αποστολή αεροπυρόσβεσης στο Βασιλίτσι Μεσσηνίας.
Δύο (2) PZL εκτέλεσαν αποστολή αεροπυρόσβεσης στο Βασιλίτσι και το Βλαχόπουλο Μεσσηνίας.
Δύο (2) PZL εκτέλεσαν αποστολή αεροπυρόσβεσης στα Αγράμπελα Καλαβρύτων
Δύο (2) PZL εκτέλεσαν αποστολή αεροπυρόσβεσης στη Λίμνη Ευβοίας.
Δύο (2) PZL εκτέλεσαν αποστολή αεροπυρόσβεσης στην Ψηλή Ράχη Δράμας.
Εκτελέστηκαν 32 έξοδοι και συμπληρώθηκαν 72,5 ώρες πτήσης.
Για Επιτήρηση,
Δύο (2) PZL εκτέλεσαν αποστολή επιτήρησης στο Μαντάμαδο, την Ερεσσό και την Γέρα Λέσβου.
Δύο (2) PZL εκτέλεσαν αποστολή επιτήρησης στο Άκτιο και την Πρέβεζα.
Ένα (1) PZL εκτέλεσε αποστολή επιτήρησης στον Αγκώνα, το Κάστρο και τη Σκάλα Κεφαλλονιάς.
Ένα (1) PZL εκτέλεσε αποστολή επιτήρησης στην Κέρκυρα.
Δύο (2) PZL εκτέλεσαν αποστολή επιτήρησης στη Θάσο και την Καβάλα.
Εκτελέστηκαν 9 έξοδοι και συμπληρώθηκαν 14,4 ώρες πτήσης.
Για Αεροδιακομιδές,
Ένα (1) Super Puma μετέφερε 1 ασθενή από την Ικαρία στη Σάμο.
Συμπληρώθηκε 2,7 ώρες πτήσης σε 1 αποστολή.

A Be-200 from the Russian Navy went down in Turkey yesterday fighting fires. All 8 crew members dead. R.I.P.🙏

*14 seconds to reload 12 tons of water* - business as usual for firefighting version of Russian Berieve Be-200 airplane! Airplanes and helicopters of various characteristics represent a good fire fighting capability and each aircraft provides its own unique contribution to the common cause. Thanks to its high speed, the Be-200 offers high fire-suppression capacity in terms of the number of water drops and the amount of water dropped per hour. *For one refueling, the airplane is capable of dropping up to 270 tons of water,* provided that airfield to fire distance is 100 km and fire to water body distance is 10 km. Think about it - *just in one flight 22 times discharge of 12 tons of water to the fire source.*

The Greeks could buy 2 BE-200 for the price of the I F35 fighter plane. I guess that they got their priorities wrong on how to protect their country.

I won’t disagree with you but when you have neighbors like turkey your priorities change! Even during all this they still violated Greek airspace with their f16’s

@@malamatinas1 sure . but as summers get hotter and hotter you would think there should be a whole fleet of Be-200's ready and spread accross Greece and not one on lease.... Same in Bulgaria , not enought capabilities with only few choppers ..... just a few bamby buckets will not do the job !

@@svarogeuropeidentity4355 They prefer to spend money to fuels for 8 F16 and to make also Greece to spend moneys to fuels in a situation like this than to find a solution. In Russia you will lern them soon to becouse you help them to get wapons and to build nuclear factories. I hope is not tolate when you realise what kind of people run turkey. And you will start have problem becouse 2/3 of Russian democracies are talking turkish and the moment they will find you week they will bite you also. Just to know what people you feed with factories and wapons.

The Be-200 are very impressive and very powerful. But I‘m a bit wondering how slow the Chinook choppers are operating. They loose lots of time until they have their buckets refilled… the Skycrane is so much faster even by pumping up the water!

They need a fleet os 10 Be-200 on the line and ready for the summer heat...... not just one leased . Hope the government will wake up and not only buy fighter jets but some of those life savers !

Unfortunately this is a great current tragedy, not only in Greece, that I would never want to see ... and every year it will get worse. But technically it's a chance to see the gorgeous Be-200 in action: technique, speed and elegance/aesthetics, this last one that doesn't hurt. As an aviation lover I say that this is the top of fire fighting amphibious. We could have some here in Italy ... I hope, given the inevitable need, that the European air fire forces increase integration and mutual availability.

Ένα ειδικό ενυδρείο ταχείας αναπλήρωσης νερού δεν θα μπορούσαν να κατασκευασουν εμπλεκόμενοι δήμοι για αυτά τα ελικόπτερα σε διάφορα μέρη. Θεωρώ ότι δεν θα ήταν κ τόσο μεγάλο το κόστος. Κερδίζεις χρόνο κ καύσιμα.

Υπάρχουν αρκετά σημεία για τέτοια χρήση. Πχ kzfaq.info/get/bejne/abOPhqaj286lfJs.html. Αλλά βρίσκω τουλάχιστον δύο λόγους για τους οποίους δεν τα χρησιμοποιούν. Ο πρώτος είναι ότι έχουν συγκεκριμένες πορείες εισόδου (για ρίψη) και εξόδου (για refill) για να έχουν διαχωρισμένους κύκλους. Άλλο κύκλο έχει το Beriev, άλλο τα Canadair, κ.ο.κ. Αν πάνε πχ τα Erickson που είναι πολύ ευέλικτα εκτός συγκεκαυμένων κύκλων θα μπλεχτούν. Ο δεύτερος (ίσως, δεν έχω γνώση επί του θέματος) μπορεί να έχει να κάνει με ανεφοδιασμό άλλων επίγειων μέσων. (σε λίγο θα ανεβούν και άλλα βίντεο, το ένα εξηγεί την έννοια του «κύκλου» στην αερουρόσβεση.

@@11AviationVideos ναι οκ κ εγώ δεν είμαι ειδικός, αναφέρομαι μόνο για ελικόπτερα σίγουρα κάνουν διαφορετικές πορείες από τα αεροπλάνα, αλλά δεν βλέπω κ τόσο δύσκολη λύση σε αυτό που λες. Λογικά σε περιόδους που δεν έχει πυρκαγιές η πολεμική αεροπορία θα εξασκείται σε τέτοια σενάρια για να ορίσει πορείες fill refill. Παράδειγμα δικής μου σκέψης, πιάνει φωτιά ο Υμηττός και υπάρχει ανεφοδιασμός Παπάγου η Βύρωνα πχ θα μπορούσε να υπάρχει εύκολα συντονισμός. Σε ευχαριστώ για την απάντηση

@@11AviationVideos - Nice to see that Greece is not afraid of asking for help when they need it. Back in 2018 when there was big forest fires in Sweden it was suggested to ask for one or two Be-200's but Swedish politicians said "No, we don't want to ask Vladimir Putin for help". /B.

The airplane was leased by the greek civil protection from the begining of the summer season. Not sent "pro bono".

Η αλήθεια είναι ότι (αν κα έχουμε πολλά φέτος) δεν φτάνουν. Στις ΡΟβιές πάντως πριν δύο μέρες ένα Erickson μόνο του παλευε εμ τις ώρες κάνωντας απίστευτα γρήγορες ρίψεις kzfaq.info/get/bejne/l5-babWgnZfDhnU.html

Από το 1990 κάνουμε το ίδιο. Εννοώ κυνήγι αεροπυρόσβεσης. Απλά τώρα στην εποχή των social βγαίνουν γρήγορα. Κάποια στιγμή θα ανάβουν και τα παλαιά

Fire in Greece! Many people leaves from villages. The prine minister Mistotakis have shares in 'Terna company' this is wild energy park. Him and Mr Gerapetritis the general minister the womens father is president and the owner of the company. This is a reason fires is everywhere all of this areas because they want to make business. The situation is tragic the trees of Natura animal and bees burns. The environmental in Greece destroy everything.
