A fire kit should also have three sources of ignition, which are devices that can produce a spark or a flame. Two of these sources should be waterproof, such as a ferro rod and a stormproof lighter. The type of lighter you choose can make a difference in how well your fire kit performs in tough conditions. I will explain the pros and cons of different lighters, such as Bic, Zippo, and butane lighters.
