Why never use flame caps

IMO he's correct. Use FlameCaps in say Dungeons sure. But with Volcanic pots lasting 25 secs (way more than Wrath Pots ever did) and its way more potent VS flame Cap, especially on pre-pot. Flame Cap vs Volcanic is a no brainer in comparison (even if Flame Cap gives you 80 SP for a full minute) just do to trinket and CDs alone. Example: imagine a 25s Volcanic 1200 sp increase with Synapse Springs, Lightweave, Trinket (most are 1925 SP on CD) all hitting at the start of an encounter. Throw in a Pyro Dot, Living Bomb, and Pryo Ignite. 30k dps easy.

To add on Blast wave should absolutely be used in aoe situations as well, it's your most deterministic way to force an impact proc. Aoe should be LB->BW->Pyro->flamestrike/DB if no impact proc. NEVER use combustion in aoe without an impact proc. Spreading a good ignite > spreading pyro/LB. If you don't incorporate aoe's to force impact procs you'll be horribly inconsistent.

nope doesnt matter the timer left on youir living bomb or pyroblast DoT as long as they're both up. only thing youre looking for is how much ignite damage is on the boss. you want that to be high as possible but the ignite dot is only up for a short window of 4 seconds so you have to make the decision whether u want to combust or not quickly

On single target when you want to use Combustion it would go like this...If your first Pryo Crits there is a very high chance the second Hotstreak Pryo munches the first. It could be more or it could be less of an Ignite to use Combustion on But that's the risk of waiting. There are Weak Aura Combustion Helpers out there to atleast see what your Ignited Combustion will hit for to make your decision. If you're doing an AoE Combustion, run a Macro of: #showtooltip /cast Combustion /cast Fire Blast Wait for an Ignite, , hopefully a Hotstreak Proc for the Pyro dot (ideal but sometimes youll miss the window waiting for both Impact and the Hotstreak) make sure a Living Bomb is up or a refresh. You'll have 4 seconds after a big Ignite to hit the Macro to spread a LB, Pyro Dot, and Ignite to your poor AoE victims.

I would say no because on my mage I usually get impact procs from using blast wave to AoE. Plus it does a lot of damage :D

Crit is waaaaay better then Haste. It's the entire reason for our Pyro procs. This guide is kinda terrible.. dude has a spirit gem and telling people to stack it as well... lmao

You do want haste but only up till one of your softcaps, you calculate this along with raid buffs ud get (such as 5% spell haste, potential DI) etc everything else goes into crit after hitting your hit and haste soft cap, the haste soft cap is there for the extra combustion ticks which are at 15% and 25% respectively iirc. 25% is probably not very realistic atm unless ur a goblin and playinf in a 25 man but 15% only requires around 800 ish haste with a 5% spell haste buff assuming ur not a goblin, a lot easier to get with T11 atm.

@@bcf_polarbear1833 Crit is better than haste after you hit soft caps, the most imporant one being 25% haste. Depending on race and your raid comp, that could mean that haste is waaaaaaay better than crit for a good long while. Haste directly impacts your actual damage, not just how fast you cast.

No
