Күн бұрынJoin the science discord! / discord 3 mini experiments rolled into 1 nice video! Its been raining all week, so I got to stay in and play with my new camera! I made a Fire-saber, and I recorded cool footage like watching a fire race across the floor, and hitting a water soaked screen. I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed making it!
Im thinking about starting a new mini-series "slow motion Saturdays" got any suggestions?
Before anybody asks, the name of the first song is 'Jessica' by the allman brothers, remixed by top-gear. The camera is a Sony RX-10 ii. The bottle is "Ethyl chloride from Gebauer"

f/a ratio is correct! the vapors from the fuel mixing with the oxygen is in that "magic" area for ignition.love the slow speed shots your getting!

I wonder if you could make some kind of track for the liquid to make it more uniform, or if the friction caused by the addition of any kind of solid material would slow it down too much to work the same. Anyways, great idea!

***** No, hitting the wet screen at two points at the same time. Do their waves cancel out or what?

(In theory) If you hit at the exact same spot at the same time then the sum of the forces is zero (with regards to moving the screen freezes forward or backward). At most you might "squish" the screen if enough force were applied. In practice though you probably would be a little "off", with both your timing, and the exact points of contact, and you might also not hit it at two 90 degree angles relative to the flat screen. The result is that the screen would be accelerated minority before being stopped by the opposing force, probably applying enough force to know the water droplets down one way or the other. Of perhaps more interest would be hooking up something like a speaker to both side, and having the center of the screen rapidly hit with alternating "waves" and see if you could get water to alternately fly off the screen in both directions.
