IU's voice never ceases to relax me. No matter what type of song she's singing, whether it's poppy or sad, it manages to comfort and relax every time.

This song is beyond beautiful, i got chills everytime i listen to this masterpiece

The story behind it is that IU thinks that wishing someone a good sleep is equivalent of expressing your love, whenever she finishes her concerts she wishes everyone a good night instead of saying I love you. She’s been suffering from chronic insomnia for a long time and wrote a lot of songs about it, even tho she wishes her lover to stay by her side when she can’t sleep, she still cares about him more and therefore wishes him a good night and saying that she’ll watch over him (by sending the fireflies). A lot of koreans were surprised by the way she wrote the lyrics and say that the translation wouldn’t do it any justice, it’s almost written as poetry.

She made a bunch of idols cry at and award show when singing this, she said it was for Jonghyun who was a really good friend of hers.

Ben this is one of my favourite IU songs, and what make me love this song more is... IU invited a famous lyrics writer from HK to rewrite the song in Cantonese to tailormade for her concert in HK!!! I'm a Cantonese speaker and IU sings this special version very fluent in Cantonese... I love IU!

Don’t know if you watch K-dramas but if you do and you haven’t seen Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo (it has IU and a whole amazing cast) you should. The ending is kind of a killer but that drama steals your heart.
