I have my own project rust bucket here in Tx. Found it at a scrap yard a few years ago. Sent the engine and trans. to one of the Rokon guys for rebuild. Last week i finally started getting my shop cleaned out so i can start getting this thing put together. This vid is an inspiration.

Me and my brother-in-law were building a flat-track bike and were having a load of trouble undoing a cross-threaded bolt. When it finally came free we cheered so loudly that a lady came from a nearby house with a first-aid kit because she thought we'd been injured!!

Hi Mark. I like the rotisserie treatment! But you should consider taking it one step further. There are products like "Kreem" that will stop rust and seal old metal gas tanks from the inside. They are very popular in the biker restoration crowd. Otherwise the rust will keep coming back until your vintage gas tank is rotted beyond redemption.

Timing is a bit advanced with the kickback in the pull starter, ya may want to back it off by moving the stater plate under the flywheel. The most painful thing is having a pull starter fitting between you closed fist LMAO! BUT if you are kick starting it mainly then you shouldn't need to? Your call. There's a easy way to get the timing setup right by the book by either a spark plug dial indicator or if you don't happen to have one, by pulling the cylinder head and by using a feeler gauge and backing the piston down and amount of thousandths of an " the book calls for before Top dead center, which can be anywhere from .090" - .020" or somewhere inbetween? The further away from TDC the worse it will want to kick backwards on ya, while ya are measuring the distance before TDC using a test light on the points with all wires disconnected from the coil and kill switch to totally isolate them and rotating the stator plate while the piston is set to the desired depth in the cylinder, ya want to just make contact with the points and make the test light come on, it's not complicated, it's just time consuming work to get it right. Hope this may help you in the future thanks for posting this video, was cool to see it coming back to life again!

I have the same Rokon and I hated the 2 stroke motor and replaced it with a Honda 110 atv motor and its way better 😊

Really friggin cool. When I was a kid my friends dad had one an during the summer we would see hours riding around on it.

Oh u finally GOT IT OUT OF THE TREE, nice or did ya go buy another one.

I would love one of these bikes, but every one I found has been out of my price range. Hell I even found one with no seat, no tires, no rims, no motor, and the guy still wanted $6000 for it. It even had a bullet hole in the gas tank.

Excellent..! I love seeing these old bikes get new life. One of the things I like to do to keep the rust patina look and prevent any more rust deterioration, is to wipe it all down with PB Blaster now & then. Is there a way to contact you? I have 3 of these bikes (a 71 and 2 68's) that are in need of rework/restoration and I would appreciate any pointers and info on parts & resources.
