We had a brand new ‪@EastonmadeWoodSplitters‬ Ultra in the yard for the fellowship last week. About a month or so back, the customer reached out to Andrew and I. He asked if Andrew could tow it with him to the fellowship event to use as a demo unit which would in turn save him shipping costs. The customer would then pick it up from my yard in a couple of weeks. While this unit was here, I got a chance to run it for more than just a couple of minutes. I gotta tell you that the more I ran it, the more I liked it! The speed and power were impressive. Check out todays video to see it in action.

I watched every video I could find before pulling trigger and knew it would be a good machine. I was first told is was a 12-14 month wait and I was contacted 8 months later and told my Ultra was entering product Very easy process and it was delivered exactly as relayed to me. Then I ran it and all my expectations were exceeded!! This is one of the best purchases I’ve ever made and it’s actually fun to use. This video is not an exaggeration of its speed or ability!!

I am small time now but like to use good equipment. I have a Timberwolf TW-1 and it is a great machine. I have watched the ultra on many channels and it looks like it would be even better for me. I no longer need a huge machine, but I do need a log lift. Neither my machine nor the Ultra has one. Great video.

If Chris in the woodyard still turns to his ultra daily, I know that machine isn't just " entry level" he's split thousands of cords through it and it still keeps on pushing. Nice video Brad, I really like the ultra too 💪🍻

Before Chris @ InTheWoodYard got his 22MB processor, he used to cut and split his firewood where it was going to be stacked. So portability along with speed was an important factor for him.

Chris would split wood and the splitter would move itself when the wood piled up in front of the splitter. To me it’s a commercial splitter if Joe and Chris bothbrsg about it that says it all. It’s a well engineered splitter. Cheers.

It certainly does. If the Ultra had hydraulic wedge adjustment, the 4 way would be much better and produce less scrap.

I have an eastonmade Ultra and I love it. Prior to the Ultra I had a super splitter, which just didn't quite meet my expectations. The ultra was a perfect compromise. I can very easily split a cord an hour if the rounds are already bucked up. I typically sell around 35-40 cords of pine for campfire wood every summer, and I tend to start splitting in February/March.

I've owned an Ultra for coming up on 2 years. When I first started looking at Eastonmade splitters I thought I needed an Axis or a 12-22 or something along those lines but they are out of my price range for my small operation. I saw the Ultra but I thought it was too small and wouldn't be much of an upgrade from what I was using. Then I saw Chris at In The Wood Yard and boy was I wrong. When I saw the amount of wood he was cranking out with is Ultra I was sold and I put in my order. The Ultra is "basic" when it come to features compared to the other models. No log lift, no hydraulic adjustable wedge, no auto cycle but that's where the basic part ends. It is far from basic when it come to performance and the only thing "entry-level" about the Ultra is the price. There is a little more manual labour compared to other models but it just flat out splits wood fast! Dave

The ultra is a hydraulic machine than can match cycle times of kinetic splitters, but also has the power to push the wood through a 4 way wedge! Great built machine.

I think the Ultra is an awesome piece of equipment! For me, it’s the mobility of it. My property where I harvest firewood is all hills. I have found it more efficient to split the rounds where I fell the tree as apposed to hauling heavy rounds up hills only to dump off at the splitter then move again to stack. Hook the Ultra to an ATV and easily take it to the felling location. I hope to own one someday and say goodbye to molasses type movement of the machine I currently use. I’m not getting any younger and time is a commodity.

Good day Brad…I’m pretty sure I’ve asked Jack the same question but I just can’t tell myself that I don’t want a 12-22 haha. But man that Ultra looks like the best thing for me. I work alone and probably will only do 30 cord a year tops…think the Ultra is my best choice ? I’d like to look at all of them in person and I think Andrew will be at the Loggers Expo in May here in Vermont. You are def pushing me towards an Ultra brother. Great video..many thanks
@FirewoodattheFurnace

Well the Ultra is certainly a great machine. If your doing 30 cord a year, the Ultra would have absolutely no problem ripping through that quickly. I would think about the diameter wood you predict that you will be dealing with and whether or not the log lift is required for you.

I did what I could do with a box store splitter till I got a processor. If you are starting out get the Ultra you will be 2 maybe 3 times more productiive then I was 20 years ago and time is money

In the 4 years that I’ve had mine I’m sure it’s split at least 500 full cords. It splits almost everything I throw at it, once a great while I’ll have to use my old 35 ton Huskee for rounds too heavy to lift up to the table or something or is too knotty or stringy like elm or sycamore

If you weigh the price of a box store splitter now against the build quality and speed of an Ultra, its really not that much of a difference. Box store splitters are between 2k and 2500 now. Thats half the price of an Ultra.
