Never gets old watching black people react to Stapleton. 😂 Despite problems in the world, music is the common denominator that can bring us together. He reminds me so much of Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, and marvin Gaye and plays like BB King.

Back in the 90s there was an album Rhythm, Country and Blues that had a bunch of old R&B and Country songs and each song was sung by a big Country and R&B artist at the time. Vince Gil sang with Gladys Knight, Patti LaBelle and Travis Tritt, Nathalie Cole and Reba McEntyre and so many more. It was a phenomenal album and proved exactly what you said, the line between Country and R&B is very thin.

I’m proud to say Chris Stapleton is a Good ol Eastern Ky boy…I grew up not far from him. He’s definitely got talent and to think he spent most of his life writing songs for other musicians coz he didn’t think he was talented enough to do his own music. Thank god for his wife who brought him out of his shell.

He is one of the best song writers in the business ! I remember the first time I saw him on the CMA's. Chris Stapleton needs no introduction because as soon as he opens his mouth you know it's him . The reason they look at each other in is because Chris has anxiety issues. He's written and sang back up on many, many songs. His wife talked him into going solo, he told her , a sling as you sing with me and I can look at you, I'll do it, why we get these gems. Much love

The original 1981 version is very different. Chris was inspired by the blues song I’d Rather Go Blind by Etta James, when he arranged this. He’s written over 170 songs throughout his career.

Nothing can describe how much I LOOOOVVVEEEE Chris. All his songs are great. My personal favorite is “I Was Wrong” live at Austin city Limits. It’s sooo good. And yes he plays the guitar, his wife does a lot of backup vocals for him. He was in a bluegrass band called Steel Drivers before going solo and they have a lot of good songs too. Blue Side of the Mountain, Where Rainbows Go to Die. He’s done collaborations with many artists too including Justin Timberlake.

Listen to Etta James “I’d rather be blind” for one more key to this arrangement. It was originally a real twangy country song performed by David Allen Coe. Nuthin wrong with that. DAC did a hell of a job with it. Then Chris heard this arrangement in his head. Freaking magic. Soul and country and r&b came together as one. I love it.

Chris plays guitar and sings . Has a beautiful voice , the amazing thing is listen to him play live and he’s still sounds unbelievable. This is one of my favourite tracks . You should also react to , starting over and broken halos. He is very soulful and pure . Phenomenal talent

Chris Stapleton is the new “Mr Steal Your Girl” and the best vocalist in our generation hands down. I’ve been following him since Nashville told him he would never make it big with the Steeldrivers and told him to stick to writing songs. I'm 60 now and was looking for some new music to get into a few years ago, so my 40 year old neighbor and friend introduced me to this artist and this song, and I was absolutely delighted! I pulled it up recently and learned it for real. Its crazy fun to sing!

Never really heard anything from Chris Stapleton until the other night. My cousin had some extra tickets to his Dallas show so I went just to get out the house. I tell you what I’d be a damned liar if I told you it wasn’t one of the best performances I’ve ever seen or heard in my life. Dude is the real deal.
