It’s so important for this precious little puppy dog to have her own space. Her “safe space”, and it’s wonderful that she’s chosen the crate on her own. The girls need to learn that when she’s in her crate, that is her space, she’s removed herself from all the hubbub and gone to her crate. I guess the word I’m looking for here is Respect. They need to respect that she also has a safe place and when she goes there, her crate in this instance, they are to let her be. Even when she’s under the table. She’s trying to get away from the chaos. They’re young and excited, as they should be, but I know y’all will teach them to give her space. I just can’t get over the fact that she’s already chosen her crate as her safe, downtime space. She’s perfect and fits in with your family wonderfully. It was meant to be. Love her unconditionally because you know that’s exactly what she will always give y’all. They just want love, a crate, or kennel, food and someplace to go potty. And in return for giving her those things, you’ll reap her love 1000 times over. This question is for Ben, Does she complete your family? Curious minds want to know 😂😂

I think it needs to be addressed how you have 3 small children and took on a puppy and you're still giving Sunny the life she deserves, Bravo. She is your 4th child and i'm so happy to see her take a priority especially during the beginning process. Love you guys, you're killing it.

Not sure if you know, but Golden puppies cannot use stairs until they are at least months old. We always carried ours up and down the stairs. Also, never shave her; Goldens have a double coat that keeps them cool and protects them from sun, bugs, etc. The most you should do is trim her. They tend to get a lot of butt fluff and foot floofs. 😊

Congratulations I'm So Happy For Your Family ❤ I've had big dogs & small dogs my whole life (50yrs worth). 🐕 So I thought y'all should be aware that as Sunny grows bigger you will have to get a higher eating station for her. It is hard for big dogs to eat if it's to low to the ground. Also make sure y'all put your hands into the food while she is eating even the kids 💕 can get pieces out & give them to her. This will prevent food aggression around other people & dogs. Make sure y'all don't let her jump up on y'all when playing as a puppy 🐕 so she doesn't do this later. The best way to teach her to sit, lay down, & any other trick is with treats. There are some great videos on how to teach 😍 her how to do all kinds of things. So make sure y'all only give them as a reward for good 💗 behavior not just anytime. But I think y'all are going to be great dog parents!! Just get the kids included in feeding, walks, & training so she understands that everyone in the house are to be listened to. I think this is going to be great for your whole family!!

Puppy tips!! Play fireworks, ambulance, storm sirens, thunderstorms, newborn crying…on the TV while she’s young so she’s acclimated to the noises! Give treats as she sits still & doesn’t bark/jump/cry at the noises!

i have Golden got him at 8 wks now he's 10 best dog ever highly intelligent very active and most Goldens love carrying around a stuff animal in their mouths for comfort, they are such great dogs, excellent around my grandchildren

Same thing when I first adopted my puppy Millie she was up a lot through out the night for the first couple weeks to go potty or to get attention because she was away from her litter and mom

Golden retrievers are the best!! We have a one year old honey 🍯 stick with kennel training it’s the best! our girl loves it and has no issues especially if we have to take her to a doggy kennel 🙌🏻

A dog picks their" person" from day 1. Ben, you are her person. She will guard you with her life. She will guard the entire family as they are her family, but you are #1. My husband is my dogs #1, although he is my dog. Oh well, enjoy her and she will give you a lifetime of love and protection.

I’m soo sorry about your mother.. saying lots of prayers for her.

Please make sure you start training immediately that was the mistake we made with our golden Next if she. Cries in her crate leave her in there they need to get used to it., soon she will love being in there, I also recommend giving her a puzzle toy to keep her busy in there or even a sunglle puppy (a stuffed puppy with a heart beat inside) also be consistent about potty training. Take her out every 30 minutes or so to make sure she has no accidents in your house. But otherwise enjoy the pupystage it dose not last forever and you will miss it, at least I do😂 maybe not the puppy bitting tho😂 Rember golden retrievers, love eating anything and everything. Please make sure you always have supervision over her, especially when she is in her puppy phase.. golden love food and if you feed her and she asks for more don’t give more because, their stomachs can twist, and it will not be good Also make sure if. She bites you or jumps on you stop her immediately because they will continue. If you don’t stop them, and it will be worse to stop them later rather than now.. also know as they get older, they’re going to need bigger, dog food bowls, and a bigger, crate and collar

PLEASE be careful that she doesn’t eat small rocks! My lab girl unbeknownst to me ate a rock and thankfully regurgitated it back up 2 weeks later. They will eat anything when they’re teething-please watch her constantly. Also puppies love ice chips while teething.

Word to the wise...each of you need to have the key to the other's vehicle on your own key chain...at all times. You never know when there will be an urgent need and when under stress that spare key will go into hiding and you might have no idea where it is. How did I figure this out? The hard way, of course. Hi guys Iam so happy u guys got a puppy for the girls. I to always had anmails growing up. Before u take her out for walks make sure she has all of her puppy vaccines. Make sure feed her the best puppy food thats out there always get grain free puppy food & adult dog when she's ready adult dog food. Make sure u get her chip too. U guys might have to get departed as well. She is so cute u guys couldn't have pick a better than this breed of a dog their very good with kids.

Please keep in mind she’ll get overweight really quickly with dog treats. If you give her the puppy kibble food as a treat it’s better for her. She’ll respond just the same during training sessions with her kibble without the extra calories that treats contain.

I actually have a white golden retriever to ( a bit lighter then sunny and we. Actually named her Aspen because it’s snows in Aspen Colorado and she looks like snow.. but sunny fits her perfectly❤ congrats

My daughter just got a golden retriever a few weeks ago they are amazing dogs but a lot of allergies fort Wayne's learnt how to escape the expensive vet bills go to a local SPCA cheaper clinics for the vaccinations and the allergy stuff he need it his name his name is atlas I want another cool thing we found a big mat a tray underneath of it that looks like grass on top of it Amazon for them to use inside instead of the carpet life-changing and it also helps them to learn to go outside cuz it looks like a yard and every time that she sees him squat and we putting on this match that looks like grass tray underneath is a life-changer saved you lots of wear and tear on the carpet LOL God bless you guys and prayers for your mom Jenny from Sarasota

Please research dog treat and food brands! I avoid blue Buffalo.

Also never ever give her people food and she won’t beg for it.

Blue buffalo food and treats are the worst for dogs.

One more very important piece of advice. Do not feed her anything that is not MADE IN THE U.S.A. There are some yummy treats and bones being sold under the “Dream Bone” name. They also advertise them as being a great alternative to rawhide. These poisonous treats are made in China and many contain a form of chicken jerky. Anyway, the regulations in China aren’t as stringent as in the USA so be very careful. And when it’s a product of the USA, you won’t have to search the packaging for this information. Made in America, or made in the USA, will be prominently displayed on the front of the package. One of our 2 dogs that were fed those “Dream Bones” ended up with kidney damage. This damage cannot be undone, even by stopping that brand. The damage has already been done and we just pray the progression slows because they’re no longer eating it. Sad. Very sad. All this to say: Only feed her food and treats made in the USA. Not just packaged in the USA, but MADE IN THE USA 🇺🇸.

8 weeks is the bare minimum age to take puppies from a dog. 6 weeks old is bad

Those blue treats are horrible for dogs sugar,grains,ect are extremely toxic to them sugar causes a irregular heart rate grains turns into sugar and they are unable to properly digest it.

BE GRATEFUL SHE DOESN'T HAVE FLEAS! When I rescued my 8 week old puppy she had fleas from the foster house she came from and we didn't know that when we adopted her. But since she was only 8 weeks only I couldn't use any of the flea treatments on her yet, she was too young so I could only use a flea comb with dawn dish soap and it was so so sad because you could see she was suffering and she had like cuts around her ears from scratching 😢💔❤‍🩹But I'm really glad I adopted her because I was able to get rid of the fleas eventually and she is living a happy puppy life now with no fleas!❤
