Highly recommend the “Snuggle puppy heartbeat stuffed toy” for your puppy! It’s basically a stuffed animal with a heartbeat and is comforting for them since she’s used to sleeping with mom and the other puppies. We got one to put in the crate with our puppy and it made a world of a difference. Also try to avoid taking them out or giving them attention when they cry in the crate or it reinforces that behavior. Covering the crate with a sheet or thin blanket is good too to calm them.

I second the snuggle puppy for the kennel! We found ours at Homegoods! Our puppy loved it! Also, hanging out by the crate until she calms down a bit and then walking away and also feeding her in the crate makes the world of difference for getting her comfortable in it!

I grew up with my golden retriever Beau. He lived until he was 16 or 17. Great dog. Then we got another one years later Marley. She passes a few years ago. She was also a great dog. Congratulations ❤ I like aspen but sunny is the cutest!

Having a dog is so fun! I have a rescue who has congestive heart failure and to help my heart when the inevitable happens.. i impulse bought a puppy. She is so fun! Highly highly highly highly recommend pet insurance. It has helped me so many times with my rescue and already had to use it on my puppy. I go through pets best. They are through farmers insurance. Also microchip as well! I work in a shelter and the amount of stray animals (cats and dogs) that come in don't have microchips. The ones that do, I would say about 98% of them go back home with their families because we are able to contact them to let them know we have their pet. But congratulations!! My parents have a white golden retriever and he is the bestest boy!

Our family does candy, money or a coffee bean (rabbit turd). The ones with a bean get a dollar scratch off lottery ticket. We also have the kids go on a treasure hunt (indoors) using coffee beans (tell them the Easter Bunny went potty) and to follow the beans to find their baskets. Congrats on your new addition.
