Dont panic about being impartial. You are always positive and it’s an EV so… Pasta needs a window as most of us don’t understand what the names mean but know what we want when we see it.

Re your comment on bidirectional charging (@ 11'30"), yes there's the wallbox issue, but the other major road block is electricity network approval. Has NZ resolved this? in Australia only one state has allowed bidirectional charging, i.e. SA, and that was after a Leaf owner spent 3 years challenging the the state electricity networks powers that be. It's such an obvious solution to reducing grid stress that you'd think electricity networks would jump at it, and yet in most of Oz they appear to be foot dragging.

My 2018 Jag I Pace can do 0-100 in 4.8 sec! Progress? And starting price at $129k , or second hand. $50k. Why pay more?

A shaved pukeko! It's going to take a while to erase that mental image. Thanks for that. Great to see bidirectional charging starting to be offered by EV makers (Kia, VW, Polestar and of course Nissan). The pressure is building on our NZ lines companies to adopt a strategy that will make EVs part of the grid demand solution rather than the whipping boy for generation and distribution inadequacy. Just have to coax the EVSE makers into bringing compatible units to the market at a reasonable price.

I am such a Polstar Fan Boy! love the Polestar 2 personally, planning on test driving them soon! I am wondering (not sure if its world-wide) (I am in Canada) that Polestar is not sold/available in Volvo Dealers?

I don't think Polestar is going to be sold in Volvo dealers. Both Volvo & Polestar have their own showrooms in New Zealand across the country even though they are under the same group.

The PS2 is awful, go drive the Volvo EX40 which is mechanically identical. It’s not a lot of fun, the BMW i40 is a fundamentally better car in all respects.

⁠⁠⁠@@MasterChief37Nonsense. The Polestar 2 (esp with Performance Pack) is far from awful and far more desirable in many ways than an i4. The i4 is fine, but is pretty sterile and ugly as hell. By the way, the EX40 is NOT mechanically identical, especially when you get a PS2 with Performance Pack. The Ohlins dampers and Brembo brake kit for example are not on offer for the Volvo.

How many other AU/NZ reviewers were there is the question? If you were one of a very small number well that is good and I like your reviews and obviously so does Polestar and glad you are being honest as always which is the most important thing. They should not assume that because they are paying that reviewers will automatically just give them accolades they aren't Vinfast luckily.

That big glass roof! UV filter is all fine but that blocks UV, not infra-red. It WILL be hotter than a goldfish in a glass saucepan. God-damn it, forget this for Aussie summers.

Tend to agree. I don't mind a sun-roof (had one in my old Ford Capri Mk3), but a must to be able to close/block it with a solid barrier. I've seen the option in some cars with those huge panoramic glass roofs, where you have a sliding solid blocking... shutter thing. Ideally all cars with glass roof sections should have that option.

The car he test drove wasn’t even the performance pack. So it’s going to Perform even better than what he experienced. I test drove the same model. The non performance and it was awesome. In every single way. So I can’t wait for my performance pack PS3.

Polestar are going the wrong way with their designs IMO. They need to prioritise efficiency. An eye-watering price. No doubt partly because of the 111kWh battery that could power 2 EVs. Huge battery means obese weight and with the mediocre CD, badly affects range. A Tesla gets the same range with a 75kWh battery , weighs 700kg less and is much quicker too.

Can we stop this nonsense. There is nothing environmental about a car with a battery this size, that will last 8 years tops. Not too mention the carbon footprint of production. 170k ...good luck finding an audience Polestar.
