I like the looks not that much different from the 389. The only thing I don’t like is the full windshield the split looks way better

It’s just a long nose 579 tbh. Not a fan but atleast it’s not bad like a Coronado or a W990

The comments about "it's not much different than the 389"...those guys have no idea what they are looking at. The cab, chassis and doors are from the 579. Mirror, air cleaners, hood, dash, windshield... there's nothing 389 about it except for the square shape of the hood. With that said, it's a nice ride, would like to see the extended hood.

Finally Peterbilt promised a new modern truck that looks like the old school Pete. I feel so good you have no idea. Good job Peterbilt!

Instead of paint upgrades and Fender upgrades how about the motor when's the first recall going to be how long is the d e f going to last

So it looks like they basically got rid of the old dashboard style and basically threw it a 579 dashboard setup with the new digital dash I'd like to see them bring back a 359 style dash 🤷 the exterior just looks like 579 with a long hood glued to it or short You're interpretation..... Now they're jamming the motor underneath the dash and of course Peterbilt and Kenworth don't want to listen to their customers when they say they want Cummins products they're going to still push that paccar engine . They still got a long way to go in my opinion for product development on that paccar engine and need to actually hire a marketing team that is in tune with their customers..... We already know The MX-13 has its problems just like any Cummins The big difference is support If they would just throw smaller fleets and owner operators a little bit of a bone they might be able to win them over between the fuel mileage and the help from out of network/dealership repair facilities

Thanks Alex that was awesome. And I really like the 589. I was kinda nervous thinking about is Peterbilt going replace the 389 with something different or just do away with it. So seeing that's it's similar to the 389 I really like it.. I fee l like I can breathe easy. That's just my opinion for what it's worth. Cause I know a lot of people are going to hate it. Just like the Auto shift. Your not a real trucker if you're not driving a manual. O well everyone's entitled to their own opinion. 👍

Any real driver only uses the clutch for first gear and reverse.

I'm a 389 guy but they did a awesome job on this new truck, I almost feel sorry for those guys who ran out and way over paid for one of the last 389's.

I don’t like it. Looks too cramped. In the hood engine compartment area. My 579 was already pretty cramped. I’m looking forward to a 389 that I can work around. But that’s just my personal preference.

And you can get it at a bargain for 250k plus with 2 dollar a mile freight and get to pull your hair out dealing with a junk paccar and all the after treatment problems.

I thought they were going to designate that the 399. As one who drives a 579, the engineers need their book upside their heads. Flash and high beams are opposite of every vehicle on the road. The 4 ways are hard to find but you'll get it after a couple weeks. Can't engage the power divider at any speed, so no more lift and flip on the fly. The interior looks a bit better. The cup holders are nice. Finally someone designed a paper towel holder. Blah on the digital readouts.

Glad that peterbilt is still making the square long hood, course they know if they did they would probably lose a lot of business if they stopped making a long hood, also wish they would have continued doing the split windshield.

I dig it; now that CAT is back in the truck engine game, would be sweet to get this as a glider kit and put a new kitty in it.

Interior looks better. Now, Peterbilt and Kenworth need to make a spectacular sleeper berth with all the extras.......

So just like the other Pete's with this dashboard, you can only get 6 gauges and you're stuck with the screen.

New to truck culture but it seems like the big reveal is the exact same thing thats already on the roads. Only thing new is the year, it's like watching new i phone reveals

So they added the digital dash and ruined this one by putting in the paccar engine. One thing I’ve learned about the paccar engine is that either you get a really good one or a really bad one. There is no middle ground.
